Right about now, in the middle of Winter, it’s time to go somewhere! Do something! 

But in today’s world, it needs to be safe and healthy. But also Warm & Comfortable! 

Well, we have created the perfect solution – Hearthside Reflections!! 

We take a short day’s jaunt to one of our “go to” places. The rustic comfort of Starved Rock Lodge is the ideal setting for such a time. The massive fireplace overlooks a spacious yet inviting lounge, perfect for peaceful reflection. 

Day 1 – Home to Oglesby, IL 

We travel through the winter wonderland of Wisconsin to our destination, Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. We’ll have time to settle into our cozy accommodations at the Lodge before the first of our home-cooked meals is served in the Lodge dining room. Simply relax and enjoy your comfy surroundings. Around the fire this evening, we are transported to the land of our own imaginations by the magic crafting of a Master Storyteller.

Hotel: Starved Rock Lodge (2 Nights) 

Day 2 – Oglesby 

Breakfast is served in the Lodge dining room and then savor your coffee as you sit hearthside for a relaxing morning. Today a special treat has been planned. This is prime time for eagle viewing along the Illinois River and we have made arrangements for an eagle expert to guide us to the best viewing locations!! The bald eagle has been the national bird of the United States since 1782 – we will thoroughly enjoy watching these majestic creatures! We then return to the Lodge for a hearty lunch. Next we will be thoroughly entertained by the music and comedy of The Dueling Pianos Show. Dueling Pianos is a collection of some of the best entertainers in the industry. You’ll be singing and laughing! It’s an experience like no other. The show concludes mid-afternoon, allowing plenty of time to get back to relaxing. There’s no need to leave our “comfy confines” as another great homemade dinner is served in the dining room. This evening feel free to settle in for more Hearthside Reflections, or you may join the Tour Director for fun games – Bingo anyone?!

Day 3 – Oglesby to Home 

Wake up to the aroma of coffee brewing and breakfast ready in your own time. We don’t depart for home until mid-morning, so simply unwind around the fire, take a walk in the winter woods, read, visit, nap – whatever you want. Then we bid our cozy lodge goodbye and travel home, enjoying one last meal together along the way. Arrive home filled with wonderful hearthside reflections and cherished new friendships made!
