Day 1 – Home to Escanaba

Motor through the changing colors of the rolling hills of Wisconsin to Escanaba for the evening.  Dinner is at the charming Ludington House Restaurant this evening.

Day 2 – Escanaba to Sault Ste. Marie
Explore the Upper Peninsula as we skirt along the beautiful shores of Lake Superior.  Visit the second largest waterfall east of the Mississippi River, Tahquamenon Falls with its copper tint produced by natural minerals in the Tahquamenon River.  Lunch is served at a local pub within the park.  Arrive in Sault Ste. Marie, welcoming us with a reception and brief tour.  This evening experience the Soo Locks with a sunset dinner cruise.

Day 3 – Sault Ste. Marie
Experience Agawa Canyon by rail on the classic Agawa Canyon Train.  You will see splendid fall foliage as we rail through rugged wilderness, deep valleys and gorges, featuring rushing rivers and peaceful lakes.  Stop in Agawa Canyon for some leisure time to browse and take a stroll in the park.  Noon lunch is included aboard the train.  Return to the hotel for a leisure evening on your own.

Day 4 – Sault Ste. Marie to Mackinac Is.
Cross the Mighty Mac five-mile bridge that links Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  Ferry over to Historic Mackinac Island.  A horse and buggy carriage will carry us around on a charming tour of the island.  Mackinac Island has seemingly remained untouched, as it was when the first European settlers came here about three centuries ago.  No motorized vehicles are allowed on the island so you must travel by horse and buggy or bicycle.  Enjoy a spectacular luncheon buffet at the famous Grand Hotel.  The remainder of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the surrounding activities, shops, and scenery.  Your hotel is located across from the ferry to make your return from the Island at your leisure.  Some may want to take in the free laser show at Mackinaw Crossings.

Day 5 – Mackinac Island to Ludington
Enjoy breakfast this morning at the hotel before we motor along the beautiful shores of the west coast of Michigan, and on through the resort communities of Charlevoix and Petoskey.  Arrive in Traverse City, the cherry capital of the world.  Tour a local winery and gift shop before we continue on to Ludington, a charming port town.  This evening you are special guests at a waterfront restaurant.

Day 6 – Ludington to Home
Board the S.S. Badger in Ludington for an exciting cruise across beautiful Lake Michigan.  Options on board are many, including a movie lounge, historical displays, gift shop, and restaurant.  We’ll then cross Wisconsin and arrive home.
