Day 1. Home to Anchorage 
Fly to Anchorage today and settle into your downtown Anchorage hotel.

Day 2. Anchorage to Talkeenta
Board the Alaska Railroad for a journey to the historic town of Talkeetna, the starting point for all the Mt. McKinley climbing expeditions.  It is here on the sunny southside of Mt McKinley, you will get your best chance to see North America’s tallest mountain.  Dinner is at the world class Talkeetna Wilderness Lodge set on a glacier river with Mt. McKinley in full view.

Day 3. Talkeenta to Denali National Park
Breakfast is served at the lodge this morning.  Some may want to take an optional Mt. McKinley Flightseeing excursion for an extra cost.  This evening you are guests at an included Alaskan Cabin Dinner.

Day 4. Denali to Fairbanks
Morning is the best time to see wildlife, so we’ve arranged for a tundra wildlife safari deep into the park.  Truly an experience to remember as you may see your first wild grizzly bear, wolf, moose, or dall sheep.  Continue to Fairbanks today and check into the lovely Wedgewood Resort your home for the next two nights.  Your hotel is a lovely park like setting with flower landscapes and walkways.

Day 5. Fairbanks
After breakfast board the “Sternwheeler “Discovery” for an exciting cruise along the scenic Chena and Tanana Rivers.  You’ll hear native guides share their unique culture at a recreated Athabascan Indian Camp.   A special lunch is arranged for you at the unique Pump House Restaurant.  Later visit the El Dorado Goldmining Camp and learn about the goldmining techniques and its colorful history.   This evening attend Alaskaland for a salmon bake dinner  show.

Day 6. Fairbanks to Valdez
View the Pipeline Suspension Bridge before motoring through some of Alaska’s most spectacular scenery.  View untouched alpine beauty at the top of Thompson Pass with a picture stop at Worthington Glacier.  Travel Richardson Highway which winds through Keystone Canyon walls above.  Our journey ends as we descend upon the little port village of Valdez, beautifully surrounded by snowcapped mountains.

Day 7. Valdez
Experience Prince William Sound from the water’s perspective.  Get ready for an adventure as we board an excursion boat for a cruise with a naturalist guide who will help us spot bald eagles, whales, sea otters, and porpoises.  The ice builds and builds around us as we gently float closer to Suprise Glacier.  Lunch today is on the boat as we gently float among pristine beauty.

Day 8. Valdez – Girdwood
 This afternoon visit Anchorage with its lovely downtown.  Take some time for shopping here before we check into the Alyeska Mountain Resort nestled in the breathtaking Grand Mountains.  Truly and impressive resort lodge nestled in a scenic mountain valley.

Day 9. Girdwood
Breakfast awaits before a full day of beautiful scenery.  One of the best places to view wildlife is spectacular Kenai Fjords National Park.  Cruise on majestic Resurrection Bay where snowcapped mountains rise up from the sea.  You may see, orca whales, sea lions, and playful sea otters.   Lunch is served on a remote Fox Island.  Later board the Wildlife Express Railway and enjoy sweeping vistas as we rail along Turnagain Arm, with its grand Kenai Mountains.  Return to the resort for a restful evening.

Day 10. Girdwood to Home
This morning we board our flight for home with memories of a great Alaska vacation.
