America’s National Parks

Day 1 – Home to Rapid City
Today we head to Rapid City.  Arrive and enjoy a wonderful dinner together before we travel to Mt. Rushmore National Memorial and watch the evening lighting ceremony.

Day 2 – Rapid City to Cody
Motor through the Bighorn Mountains with sweeping vistas of deep canyons, rushing waterfalls, and green pastures, then continue by Shell Falls rushing 120 feet over granite walls to the canyon floor. As we descend into the beautiful open grassland of Wyoming we’ll arrive in the  frontier town of Cody.  Dinner is on your own tonight.

Day 3 – Cody to Grand Tetons NP
Explore historic Cody, with a visit to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and get a authentic view of the Wild West.  We’ll continue to Grand Teton National Park—famous for its rugged peaks, glaciers, blue lakes, and dense green forests. The park is home to moose, antelope, and bison, as well as hundreds of wildflower types.  It is here that we will behold some of North America’s most spectacular mountain scenery.  Check into the Jackson Lake Lodge before dinner in the lovely Mural Dining Room.

Day 4 – Grand Teton National Park
Take a scenic, peaceful float raft ride on the spectacular Snake River.  Later, visit the charming town of Jackson, with its unique downtown boardwalk and swing-door saloons.  A beautiful drive along Jackson and Jenny Lakes will leave you awestruck.  Enjoy a free evening at the resort.

Day 5 – Tetons to Yellowstone NP
We’ll continue to Yellowstone National Park, established in 1872 as the world’s first national park. We’ll stop and admire the famous Old Faithful geyser that has been erupting “faithfully” for more than 100 years. Our evening accommodations are set just outside the park entrance of Yellowstone.

Day 6 – Yellowstone National Park
Come explore Yellowstone National Park with the help of an expert park guide.  The scenery commands attention as we motor through the park with a stop at Fountain Paint Pots.  See its colorful, bubbling mudpots and later view splendid Yellowstone Canyon.  At Mammoth Hot Springs, take a short trail walk through steaming limestone terraces and continue along the loop road and enjoy several photo opportunities including Yellowstone River’s Lower Falls, almost twice as high as Niagara. Lunch is specially arranged within this beautiful park setting.  The evening will be at your leisure.

Day 7 – Yellowstone to Kalispell
As we head north, prepare yourself for one of the most scenic National Parks in America, Glacier National Park.  This evening spend the night in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.

Day 8 – Glacier National Park
Today we take a journey over the breathtaking Going-to-the-Sun Highway, aboard the park’s 1930’s vintage touring buses.  We’ll motor along the shores of St. Mary’s Lake then cross the Continental Divide with sweeping vistas of mountains and valleys green. Lunch will be at the beautiful Lake McDonald Lodge.  Our accommodations tonight will be in beautiful St. Mary, Montana, with spectacular views of Glacier National Park’s Mountain ranges.  Sleep soundly as you nestle in among the spectacular scenery of this national park.

Day 9 – Glacier NP to Great Falls
Enjoy a morning cruise on the beautiful St. Mary’s Lake, with majestic mountains serving an awe-inspiring backdrop. Travel to Great Falls, Montana, with lunch along the way.  Scenery changes as we leave the Rocky Mountains and motor through Montana’s Big Sky Country with its sprawling ranches.

Day 10 – Great Falls to Medora
Early morning, we’ll depart for Medora, North Dakota, passing by Theodore Roosevelt National Park before arriving at Medora for a great final evening together.  Our evening will include the delicious Pitchfork Fondue steak dinner followed by the Medora Musical saluting Theodore Roosevelt.

Day 11 – Medora to Home
Our last day of travel with stops for lunch and coffee breaks along the way.
