In 2011 we traveled to the Black Hills with Great-Grandparents, Grandparents, Parents, Children, Grandchildren and a Great-Grandchild. It was a wonderful experience for everyone who traveled! Together we experienced the beauty of the Black Hills, the pride of our country as we viewed Mount Rushmore, and the wonder and excitement of the gold rush as we panned for gold! In 2012 we are hoping to have your family join us on this great Multigenerational Adventure.

Day 1 Home to Keystone S.D.

Our journey begins as we round up all of our travelers and hit the trail headed west. We’ll cross over the plains of South Dakota, across the wide Missouri River, and through the Badland regions as we make our way to Keystone. We’ll have lots of fun on the coach as we travel along and stop for dinner before we pull into the KBar Lodge for three nights. Get acquainted with this beautiful lodge and its great views of the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. Settle in and get ready for a great day tomorrow!

Hotel: KBar Lodge

Included Meals: Lunch

Day 2 Touring the Black Hills

This morning we will visit Mount Rushmore and enjoy this spectacular monument created by Gutzon Borglum to convey the meaning of America. Hike the trails, visit the museums, and enjoy this spectacular monument. Later we will travel to Hill City where we will board an 1880 Train for a trip back in time. The old steam engine, just like those that traveled to settle the west, will take us through the beautiful Black Hills where mountains rise in the distance and deer run in the meadows. When we arrive in Keystone we will head for the Big Thunder Gold Mine that was discovered in 1882 and mined until about 1920. We’ll tour the mine and then pan for some gold – who knows what you will leave the mine with!!! We will enjoy a meal together at the KBar Lodge and then gather around the campfire for some good campfire stories and of course, some S’mores!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3 Touring the Black Hills

Today we travel deep into Custer State Park where we will enjoy its beauty and experience a bit of its wildness. Experience the awesome, scenic drive with its many switchbacks before we get onto the wildlife loop where you will want to keep your eyes open for deer, buffalo, and wild burros. We’ll stop for lunch at the State Park’s Blue Bell Lodge. This afternoon we’ll make a stop at Sylvan Lake and view the “needle” like rocks climbing out of this beautiful lake. Continuing on to Crazy Horse Monument, a work in progress, and visiting its museum which tells the story of the American Indians in this area. Later this afternoon we travel to the Circle B Ranch for a good old Chuckwagon dinner and great entertainment. Our wonderful day will end with a short ride back to the lodge.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 Keystone to Chamberlain

This morning we’ll enjoy breakfast together and have a final walk around the Lodge before we travel to Bear Country USA. We’ll motor through this wildlife park enjoying the elk, deer, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Plus a stop at “Babyland” is planned to enjoy the bear cubs

playing. From here we travel towards the Badlands, making a stop for lunch, and then enjoying the unique beauty of the Badlands National Park. Stops along the way will allow for some great pictures and viewing. Then it’s on to Cedar Shores Resort on the banks of the Missouri River for the evening. We’ll enjoy a great dinner together and then you’ll have time for an evening walk or swim!

Hotel: Cedar Shores Resort

Day 5 Chamberlain to Home
