Day 1 Home to Keystone S.D.
We’ll round up all of our travelers and hit the trail headed west. We’ll cross over the plains of South Dakota, across the wide Missouri River and through the Badland regions as we make our way to Keystone. We’ll have lots of fun on the coach as we travel along and stop for dinner before we pull into the KBar Lodge for 3 nights. Get acquainted with the lodge this evening and get ready for a great day tomorrow!

Day 2 Keystone
This morning we will visit Mount Rushmore and enjoy this spectacular monument created by Gutzon Borglum to convey the meaning of America. Hike the trails, visit the museums, and enjoy this spectacular monument. Later we will travel to Hill City where we will board the 1880 Train for a trip back in time. This old steam engine, just like those that traveled west with settlers, will take us through the beautiful Black Hills where mountains rise in the distance and deer run in the meadows. When we get to Keystone we will head for the Big Thunder Gold Mine. This mine, discovered in 1882, and was mined until about 1920. We’ll tour the mine and then pan for some gold and who knows what you will leave the mine with!!! We will enjoy a meal together at the KBar Lodge and then the evening will be on your own.

Day 3 Keystone
Today we travel deep into Custer State Park where we will enjoy its beauty and experience a bit of its wildness. The scenic drive with many switchbacks is a great drive before we get onto the wildlife loop where you will want to keep your eyes open for deer, buffalo and wild burros. We’ll stop for lunch at the State Park’s Blue Bell Lodge and then continue on to Crazy Horse Monument. This work in progress and the museum we will visit, will tell the story of the American Indian in this area. Later this afternoon we travel to the Circle B Ranch for a good old Chuck wagon dinner and great entertainment. Our unforgettable day will end with a short ride back to the lodge.

Day 4 Keystone to Home
After breakfast we saddle up and head towards  home! We’ll enjoy the friendships we’ve made as we travel across South Dakota back into the Minnesota Territory and right to your door. We’ll share memories and great times as we travel!
