“The Canadian Rockies by Rail tour was wonderful. The drivers were very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the towns we were in. We fell in love with the staff on the train.” Gaylon, LeSueur MN

Following our check-in and exploring the hotel a bit, we’ll dine together our first evening at Seasons in the Park (Queen Elizabeth Park), offering wonderful cuisine and spectacular views of the city and mountain from the highest point in Vancouver.

Day 3 – Vancouver to Kamloops, BC – By Rail

This morning we leave the coastal city of Vancouver behind as we board the Rocky Mountaineer for a grand adventure filled with dramatic changes in scenery! Our coach’s dedicated hosts are master storytellers, which will make our experience even more memorable. Today’s journey will take us from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the British Columbia interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. We will get to see it all from the comfort of the Rocky Mountaineer Rail! We’ll overnight in Kamloops, a city of about 90,000 situated at the confluence of the two branches of the Thompson River at Kamloops Lake. What a beautiful day!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch (served onboard)

Hotel: Kamloops hotel

Day 4 – Kamloops to Banff, AB – By Rail

Today we board the Rocky Mountaineer again as our tour continues eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. We’ll travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, and over high mountain passes. Today’s highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railroad was driven; we’ll cross over Roger’s Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels, and of course the glacier and snow covered peaks of the Canadian Rockies! Our rail journey ends for the evening in lovely Banff.

Take some pictures, but don’t forget to just enjoy the view! Not far away is Lake Louise where we’ll stop for another picture opportunity of this iconic lake in the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by mountains. At the bottom of the lake we’ll enjoy a look at the impressive Chateau Lake Louise. We’ll enjoy a fabulous lunch at the Post Hotel, followed by a free afternoon for you to explore Banff.
