Day 2 – Davenport to Shipshewana, IN

After breakfast we will make our first stop in Joliet, IL. Here we will enjoy a tour, lunch, and even our very own private organ concert at the magnificent Rialto Square Theatre, often referred to as the “Jewel of Joliet,” and widely considered one of the ten most beautiful theatres in the nation! The building reflects Greek, Roman and Byzantine architecture. The organ chambers are bordered by ornate balconies on either side, with pipes masked by glittering floral grills of Byzantine influence. Truly a unique, hidden gem! Our next stop is Shipshewana, where we will be enjoying three wonderful days of gospel music! The Blue Gate Theatre and the National Quartet Convention have joined forces to present the Shipshewana Amish Country Jubilee, featuring some of Gospel music’s most beloved artists. The three-day event will feature concerts by The Hoppers, Triumphant, Jim & Melissa Brady, Tribute Quartet, Mark Lowry, Guy Penrod, Jason Crabb, Greater Vision, Mark Trammell Quartet, the Guardians, Primitive Quartet, and a special appearance by the Second-Half Quartet. We will check into the Van Buren Hotel before we make our way to the Blue Gate Theatre for a tasty dinner and to enjoy the Booth Brothers concert. Michael, Buddy, and Jim love Southern Gospel music. They believe it touches the soul and offers encouragement and hope. By singing and ministering to audiences through word and song, these gentlemen are fulfilling God’s call on their lives.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Hotel: Van Buren Hotel (3 Nights)

Day 3 – Shipshewana

This morning, following another great breakfast, we’ll begin a fun-filled day of touring the Amish area of Shipshewana with a local guide. We’ll start out early with a bakery stop, then we’ll take a short drive to tour Silver Star Leather, where we can see their “leather museum” of skins hanging from the walls. We might see alligator, ostrich, python, stingray or frog skins! They hand-make belts, handbags, wallets, briefcases and more right there at the store and we’ll have time to watch some belt-making! Next we’ll head to a bison ranch where we’ll not only get educated on the life of a buffalo and enjoy a covered wagon ride to the fields where the buffalo roam, but we’ll also partake in a chuckwagon lunch prepared just for us! Afterwards, we’ll visit a wooden basket-making shop to learn about the process of making these great wooden products – you might wish to purchase one of their crafts to bring home. Here we will also be taught how to make our very own quilt square, which will be ours to keep! This evening we will enjoy an early dinner followed by a great concert at the Performing Arts Center by Mark Lowery, Guy Penrod, and Jason Crabb.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 – Shipshewana

Breakfast is served this morning before we depart for a fascinating tour of Stutzman Dairy Farm. At this working Amish dairy farm, we’ll be treated to a tour of the dairy facility and hear directly from the Amish farmer about what makes his farm run. Afterwards, we’ll head to another Amish farm to learn what an Amish wedding day is like, see an Amish bride’s wedding dress, hear the traditional German Wedding song sung, and partake in a delicious Amish wedding feast for lunch! The afternoon is free for shopping or taking an Amish buggy ride. Then we head to the Blue Gate Restaurant’s Victoria Room for an early dinner that will be served family-style. Our evening entertainment is The Hoppers, Triumphant, Jim & Melissa Brady, and Tribute Quartet. This will be another memorable gospel concert for all to enjoy.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 – Shipshewana to Hammond, IN

Enjoy a wonderful breakfast before we make our way to the Menno Hof Museum to learn about the faith and life of Amish and Mennonites through multi-image presentations, historical environments, and colorful displays. We’ll go on a fascinating journey inside the unique world of the Amish and Mennonites. Lunch will be served at the Blue Gate Banquet Hall where we will enjoy a soup & sandwich lunch and of course a great piece of pie. This is followed by a wonderful afternoon of gospel favorites as we hear Greater Vision, Mark Trammell Quartet, The Guardians, and Primitive Quartet. Plus a highlight will be a special appearance by Second-Half Quartet. What a wonderful way to end our time in Shipshewana before we depart for Hammond, IN, where we will check into the Hampton Inn & Suites.
