Day 1 – Home to Lansing, IL

Come aboard our luxury motorcoach so we can take you on an unforgettable journey across the eastern part of our beautiful country as we make our way to historical Washington DC. We head to Lansing for our first nights stop, with coffee breaks, an included lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, and dinner on your own along the way.

Day 2 – Lansing to Wilmot, OH

This morning enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we depart for the next leg of our journey. Today we head to Wilmot, OH and the charming Amish Door Inn where you will experience the warmth of their country hospitality. We will have an authentic Amish style dinner at the Inn, leaving time for you to stroll the 300 acre farm before settling in to your rooms with beautifully handcrafted furniture.

Day 3 – Wilmot to Hagerstown, MD

Rise early and head to the Inn’s restaurant for a wonderful breakfast – then sneak over to the bakery and stock up on goodies for your coffee break later in the morning. We depart our lovely hotel and head to Canton, Ohio and the Pro Football Hall of Fame! You’re sure to learn all about football and its history right here!! We depart Canton and head towards Pittsburgh where we will have an included lunch before we make our way to Hagerstown, MD and settle in for a quiet evening before picking up our fly group tomorrow morning.

Day 4 – Hagerstown to Washington DC

We depart for Washington DC this morning and Ronald Reagan airport as we pick up our travelers that chose to fly. Once they have boarded the motorcoach, we will stop for lunch and then head over to the United States Capitol Building where we will be treated to a fabulous tour. We then check into our hotel which is home for the next five nights. Relax before we proceed to our evening event which is a stunning cruise and dinner on the Potomac. This is sure to be a highlight!

Day 5 – Washington DC

Board the motorcoach, sit back and relax as we head to Baltimore, Maryland! Watch the sites of DC go by as we make our way even further east. We have a step-on guide joining us, giving us the history of one of the country’s most unique and eclectic cities. It’s the birthplace of basebell legend Babe Ruth, the final resting place of Edgar Allen Poe, it has America’s first Washington Monument, and America’s first Roman Catholic Cathedral. We will go to the top of the World Trade Center where you can get an incredible view of the city and the bay. Dine and shop on the harbor after taking in the Baltimore National Aquarium. After dinner on your own, board the motorcoach for a relaxing ride back to the DC area and our hotel.

Day 6 – Washington DC

Today we have a full day of touring the DC area with our informative step-on guide. We will visit the Jefferson, Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean, WW II, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Iwo Jima Memorials. We see sites such as the National Cathedral, Embassy Row, Kennedy Center and more. Step out near the White House for photo ops. We will stop at the restored Union Station for lunch on your own. Tonight we will take you to Old Town Alexandria where you can shop and dine, visit Christ’s Church where George and Martha Washington and Benjamin Franklin attended services or just meander through this charming town.

Day 7 – Washington DC

Rise and shine to a mouth-watering breakfast before we head to Arlington National Cemetery and witness the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. See where President John F. Kennedy was laid to rest with the Eternal Flame marking his gravesite. This cemetery will be one of the most impressive sites you will ever see. This afternoon you are free to explore the incredible Smithsonian Museums such as the Museum of American History, the Museum of Natural History or the American Art Museum. Or visit the Holocaust Museum and learn about the torture that the Jews endured. Whichever museum you choose to take in, it will be an incredible learning experience and one you will not soon forget. Tonight dinner is served in Old Town Alexandria at the King Street Blues Restaurant, where they serve the best comfort food in town with hospitality to match.

Day 8 – Washington DC

Today we visit The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception where we will attend the 9 AM Mass. Even if you aren’t Catholic, you will be impressed by this prominent Roman Rite Catholic basilica, the largest in the United States. If you choose not to attend Mass, you can wander down stairs and visit the crypt or Memorial Hall, there are over 70 chapels and oratories to take in also. Afterwards we drive to the Mt. Vernon Inn where we will enjoy a fantastic meal. You will get some time to shop in the large gift shop before we head over to George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate. Tour the residence, see the resting place of George and Martha, walk the plantation grounds, and sit on a bench along the Potomac and take in the breathtaking view. We then go back to the hotel for a good night’s rest before our departure tomorrow.

Day 9 – Washington DC to Maumee, OH

After enjoying one last breakfast at our home away from home, we depart for the airport to drop off our flyers. Then we start our journey home as we head westward with coffee breaks and lunch along the way to our destination for the evening in Maumee, OH.

Day 10 – Maumee to De Forest, WI

Wake up and smell the coffee, eat a hearty breakfast and board the motorcoach. Reminisce with fellow travelers about the incredible sights of Washington DC as we head to De Forest, WI and our hotel for one last night together.

Day 11 – De Forest to Home

One last breakfast on the road before heading home. Enjoy your new-found friends, play games and maybe have a sing-a-long while you motor down the highway headed for home with so many memories of a wonderful tour of Washington DC!
