JULY 19; DAY 2 – Lake Geneva Area

Breakfast is included at The Village Supper Club before we are off to the 2016 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, one of the largest agricultural shows in the nation. This exciting event showcases the latest improvements in production agriculture, including many practical applications of recent research findings and technological developments. This year’s host family farm will be Snudden Farms, located by the Town of Zenda, in Walworth County, WI. The farm is operated by Steve Snudden, with help from family members and 20 employees. Agriculture works hard for Walworth County every day. Family-owned farms, food processors and agriculture-related businesses generate thousands of jobs and millions of dollars of economic activity. Agriculture is extremely diverse, and in addition to production grain and dairy, it includes a wide range of livestock and horticultural crops. The direct marketing of vegetables, meat and poultry, cheese, and fruits is a rapidly growing segment of county agriculture. Later today we make our way to a premier Rainbow Trout farm. Rushing Waters Fisheries, nestled within the Kettle Moraine State Forest. A guided tour of the fishery will reveal how they are devoted to raising premium quality Rainbow Trout using all-natural, ecologically responsible aquaculture practices. Try your hand at catching a Rainbow Trout. Dinner will be the ultimate farm to fork culinary experience as we dine in the Trout House here at the Rushing Waters Fisheries. A perfect way to end a great farm filled day!
