Day 02 – Escanaba to Mackinac Island
Our travels take us on the north side of Lake Michigan to St. Ignace—a beautiful drive.  We’ll cross the famous Mackinac Bridge to Mackinaw City, where we ferry across Lake Huron to Mackinac Island.  Transportation there is limited to horse, carriage, bike, or foot!  A horse and buggy will be waiting to take us downtown for some free time to eat and do some shopping.  We will tour the sights of the island in the afternoon by horse-drawn carriage.   Lunch will be served at the spectacular Grand Hotel featuring its Grand Luncheon Buffet.  Later we’ll check into the beautiful and charming Lake View Hotel on Mackinac Island, perfectly located amidst the main street shops and cafes.  Later we’ll enjoy the 57th Grand Lilac Parade right outside our hotel.  This parade is special because it is the only parade in North America that is totally horse drawn!  Late afternoon and evening will be free to enjoy some the other lilac festivities on this quaint and lovely island.
