R&J Tours is excited to announce a NEW Tour Series: “Made in the USA,” and we know you will thoroughly enjoy this wonderful new series! The first state we will be touring is Wisconsin! So come along with us and enjoy the ride through this beautiful state in our luxury motorcoach!! 

Day 1 – Home to Wausau, WI

Start your day heading east with R&J Tours – get ready for a fantastic tour of “Made in the USA ~ Wisconsin!” Our first stop is the Leinenkugel Brewery in Chippewa Falls. Jacob Leinenkugel started this brewery in 1867 and today the 6th generation of Leinenkugel’s are still continuing to brew some of the same recipes! You will understand why this very tasty tradition has been passed down through the generations when you sample Leinenkugel Beer after the tour. Lunch will be on your own at one of R&J Tours favorites – Thorpedo’s! Our next stop is the Greenheck Fan Factory in Schofield. Started in 1947, it began as a tiny sheet metal shop and today their products are shipped worldwide. Tonight rest peacefully at the Holiday Inn Express with dinner at a local favorite!

Day 2 – Wausau to Elkhart Lake, WI

After a filling breakfast at the hotel, board our luxury motorcoach for another day of beautiful Wisconsin scenery! This morning we head to Waupaca where we board the “Lady of the Lakes” for a narrated luncheon cruise on Chief Waupaca Chain of Lakes. Sit back and relax as you are guided on a leisurely paddle-wheel cruise through 8 of the 22 spring-fed lakes. After you have thoroughly relaxed and had your share of food and fun, we head to Omro where we will tour one of the first dairy farms to have Robotic Milkers – where the cows milk themselves 24 hours a day. This is truly a “Wisconsin” must see since they are the leading state in cheese making! Another surprise tour later this afternoon is planned on our way to our beautiful surroundings for the evening at the Osthoff Resort. We will enjoy a wonderful included dinner at the resort, then the rest of the evening is yours to explore the Osthoff.

Day 3 – Elkhart Lake to Fort Atkinson, WI

Rise and shine! Enjoy the fantastic breakfast that the resort has made for you before heading out to the Kohler Factory. Tour designer rooms with dazzling displays of kitchen and bath products while learning about their rich history which dates back to the 1870’s. After you have decided that you need to redo your kitchen and bathroom because of this wonderful tour, it’s time to head to Milwaukee where we visit the Palermo Pizza Company. Get a tour of the facility that ends with lunch, which of course includes Palermo Pizza and a few surprises!! We once again board our luxury motorcoach and cruise down the road to Fort Atkinson where we will spend the night. But first, we go to the “Fireside Dinner Theatre” where we will have dinner and see the Rodgers and Hammerstein show “South Pacific,” which takes place on a paradise island during World War II. If you have never seen this musical, you are in for a very special treat!

Day 4 – Fort Atkinson to Home

Wake up and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before packing up and heading west towards home! But first, what would a tour through Wisconsin be like without a stop for cheese? Well, we have just the place for you to witness cheese being made along with time to shop for Wisconsin cheese before we head back to Minnesota: Carr Valley Cheese Company is over one-hundred years old. Nestled amongst the rolling hills and lush pastures of central Wisconsin, it is famous for making cheese the old-fashioned way. Make sure you sample the cheese curds!! Leaving the cheese factory with your tummy full of scrumptious samples, we drive through more of Wisconsin’s beautiful countryside as we head home with our new found friends and an appreciation for things “Made in the USA” – Wisconsin style!
