Montana’s Big Sky by First Class Rail

1. Home – Chamberlain
Today we’re off for that Big Sky Adventure as we visit with traveling friends both old and new. This afternoon we stop in Mitchell, SD where we visit the world’s only Corn Palace, and the enchanted World Doll Museum before going on to Chamberlain, for our first night’s lodging. This evening enjoy a get acquainted dinner.

2. Chamberlain – Deadwood

Today we make our way to Deadwood. See Devils Tower and Crazy Horse Monuments which honor our Native Americans, and Custer State Park. This evening we view Mount Rushmore. Our lodging this evening is in the Historic Downtown of Deadwood.

3. Deadwood – Cody
We leave the Black Hills and wind through the Bighorn Mountains with beautiful canyons. Visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, featuring the country’s largest collection of Plains Indian Artifacts. After checking into our hotel perfectly located in the heart of Cody with lots to do, we’ll attend an exciting chuckwagon dinner with entertainment this area is famous for.

4. Cody – Yellowstone National Park
Western Wyoming is true cowboy country! And today you’ll see why! Pass flowing meadows of seasonal flowers as cowboys herd their cattle. Visit Yellowstone National Park, the worlds first and most famous, national Park. See Old Faithful, over 10,000 hot springs, waterfalls, and lush green forests. See beatufiul Mammoth Hot Springs. Firehole River and Fountain Paint Pots. See herds of Bison, grazing in the meadows o f Hayden Valley. View the “Grand Canyon of Yellowstone” carved by the rushing waters of the sparkling Yellowstone River.

5. Yellowstone NP
Today we explore Grand Teton National Park featuring a special calm scenic float raft ride on the Sanke River through the Grand Teton National Park with its peaks that rise more than 7,000 feet above the valley. It’s a scenic adventure you will never forget!

6. Yellowstone NP to Missoula

This morning visit the Livingston Depot Museum for an interesting tour. Get ready, you’re about to begin your Big Sky Adventure. This morning we board the Montana Daylight Train with first class train tickets (Discovery Service). For two days of travel through Big Sky Country you will enjoy scenic panaoramas and sweeping views of the ever changing countryside with stunning mountains, breathtaking meadows, and valleys. We wind through Mullan Pass and cross the Continental Divide. In Helena, you’ll see stately old mansions and the copper-doomed capitol building. Crossing the Callatin Valley, you’ll see beautiful green meadows. Tonight our overnight stay will be in Missoula, Montana. This evening enjoy some free time.

7. Missoula – Sandpoint

Today we enjoy another relaxing day of breathtaking sightseeing by train. See Bitterroot and Cabinet mountains as we cross Clark Fork River Valley. Relax and enjoy, as we experience scenery that only be seen by train. Overnight in Sandpoint.

8. Sandpoint – Kalispell
This morning we are on our way to Coeur d’ Alene Resort, a land of pristine lakes, towering pines, and snowcapped mountains. Enjoy brunch on a scenic lake cruise on this amazing lake surrounded by Idaho?s breathtaking natural beauty. We will take a scenic drive this afternoon as we make our way past Flathead Lake Area, Kootenai National Forest and on to Kalispell.

9. Kalispell – Havre

Cross the Continetal Divide over Logan Pass with its brilliant floral such as Glacier Lilies, heather, and bear grass. And don’t forget the majestic snowcapped mountains’ back drop! Visit Glacier National Park, one of the most spectacular parks North America, offers. Experience “Going to the Suns Highway” one of the most breathtaking drives in North America. Enjoy lunch at St Mary’s Lodge. Overnight this evening in Havre.

10. Havre – Minot
Today we drive through Montana with coffee stops and lunch along the way. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner in Minot, ND

We begin our journey home. Return home with memories of a grand train adventure through Montana.
