Day 02 – San Francisco
Our luxury motorcoach awaits in the morning for an exciting city tour of San Francisco.   We’ll stop at Twin Peaks for a scenic overview before lunch on our own at Pier 39 with its many charming restaurants and cafes! Later we’ll enjoy a narrated San Francisco Bay cruise with sights of Alcatraz on the horizon.  Take time to ride the cable cars, visit Chinatown, Union Square, and Market Street. Join us in the evening for a wonderful get-acquainted dinner!

Day 03 – San Francisco to Eureka
We’ll drive over the legendary Golden Gate Bridge and then have a special morning stop at a local winery in Sonoma Valley.  We’ll stop at the interpretive center and tour the Avenue of the Giants set in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, where we’ll be among giants that are taller and older than any other living thing known to man!  We’ll stay in Eureka, the heart of lumber country, and be special guests at one of the last surviving lumber camp cookhouses in the West.

Day 04 – Eureka to Gold Beach
As we drive through Redwood National Park, we’ll see why it boasts the tallest trees in the world—reaching 368 feet and up to 12 feet in diameter.  We’ll continue our scenic drive up the rugged coastline and on into Oregon.  We have planned an R&J Tour soft adventure for the afternoon—the original Rogue River Jet Boat Tour.  The Rogue River Canyon abounds in a variety of wildlife, including sea lions, sea otters, bald eagles, and more.  Our boat will dock at Singing Springs for a delightful dinner before returning to Gold Beach for a restful night.

Day 05 – Gold Beach to Newport
Spectacular ocean vistas and an abundance of ocean sea life such as whales, seals, and much more are plentiful on our travels up the coastline!  View the Heceta Head Lighthouse with sea lions abounding.  We’ll board special sand dune buggies for an exciting ride into the Oregon Dunes National Recreational Area and learn about this amazing region.  We’ll stop at Cape Perpetua Visitor Center in Siuslaw National Forest where we will see fascinating forestry and ocean marine exhibits.  Then, visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium featuring acres of outdoor and indoor marine exhibits or you will have the option to visit the natural sea lions cave nearby.  We will be overnight guests at a luxury Newport historic waterfront hotel.  Enjoy a free evening with dinner on your own in this delightful place.

Day 06 – Newport to Portland
We’ll again experience some of the most scenic coastal views to be found anywhere!  After a coffee break at the Tillamook Cheese Factory, we’ll continue north as we drive Three Capes Loop.  At one time these capes were the home of many shipwrecks.  We will have some free time for lunch in Cannon Beach before making our way to Portland with a stop at the lovely International Rose Gardens.  We’ll have a fascinating two-night stay here in Portland.

Day 07 – Portland
See this lovely city set on the banks of the beautiful Columbia River.  We’ll have a chance to ascend Mt. Hood for breathtaking views of the land below on an optional ski lift ride to the top.  Lunch will be at Timberline Lodge.  View impressive Multnomah Falls and wind along the picturesque Columbia Gorge offering spectacular scenery.  Alpine streams, lakes, and waterfalls create stunning scenery along this region formed by a stream of lava that flowed more than 10,000 years ago.  We’ll make a brief stop at the impressive Bonneville Dam and Salmon Ladders before
returning to Portland for a relaxing evening.  Choose from the many restaurants surrounding the hotel.
