Day 1 – Home to Lansing, IL

Board our luxury motorcoach for a wonderful scenic ride through Wisconsin and Illinois! We will have comfort stops and lunch at one of our favorite restaurants!! Before we tuck ourselves in for the evening, we will stop for dinner along the way.

Day 2 – Lansing to Cleveland, OH

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we board the motorcoach and watch more of the countryside of Indiana and Ohio go by. We’ll make a stop for lunch before we tour the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame – dedicated to the celebration and preservation of rock & roll music. Every music lover will LOVE this tour!! We then check into our hotel for the evening to enjoy the “Manager’s Kickback” dinner…unless you choose to eat somewhere else on your own.

Day 3 – Cleveland to Utica, NY

Breakfast is a treat at the Drury so fill up before you board our motorcoach! Today we will travel through more of Ohio, Pennsylvania and into the great state of New York. We’ll make a stop in Buffalo to tour the Naval and Military Park & Museum whose collection includes three naval vessels, an X-Ron I Rotocycle Helicopter, an Army Tank, a UHI “Huey” Helicopter, a Voodoo Fighter Interceptor Jet and much more. This tour will help us appreciate the US Armed Forces and the hard work they have devoted to our military. Afterwards, we head to our home for the evening, stopping for dinner along the way.

Day 4 – Utica to Revere, MA

Enjoy a nice warm breakfast before we continue our journey to Boston. We’ll arrive at the hotel early enough for you to enjoy some “relaxation” time before dinner on your own at one of the many nearby restaurants. Then take pleasure in a quiet evening before we pick up the rest of our travel companions tomorrow morning at the airport!

Day 5 – Revere to Augusta, ME

Breakfast is served this morning before we head to the airport to pick up the fly group! Once all are on board, we’ll stop for lunch on our own and then make our first stop as a full tour group at the Portland Head Lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. You then get dropped off downtown Portland, where you can sit and watch the waves come in – or you can head into some of the cute shops. Dinner is on your own, and since you are in Maine – you might want to try some Maine Lobster – it’s what they are famous for! After dining and shopping, we head to our hotel in Augusta, Maine for the evening where we can all get a good night’s rest.

Day 6 – Augusta to Saint John, NB

After breakfast, motor to New Brunswick, Canada, going through Bangor, the home of Paul Bunyan. We’ll arrive in the city of Saint John, situated along the north shore of the Bay of Fundy. Our hotel this evening will be the lovely Holiday Inn Express.

Day 7 – Saint John to Wolfville area

Today we join our local guide and enjoy all that Saint John has to offer. We take a look at the city and its history as well as our first closeup look at The Bay of Fundy, home of the world’s highest tides. Saint John is known as the anchor of the Bay of Fundy experience. Later we board our ferry and make our way across to Digby, Nova Scotia, famous for the Digby Scallops. Then we will follow the Evangeline Trail along the west coast as we make our way up through the Annapolis Valley, an area rich in history and of peaceful beauty. The valley is blessed by more sunshine than anywhere else in Nova Scotia. Dinner is served at the hotel this evening.

Day 8 – Wolfville area to Halifax

A local step on guide will join us today. We’ll pass through Halls Harbor, famous for its phenomenal harbor, where you can see a dramatic change in the water level. Charming coastal villages reflecting Acadian French history dot the shoreline. We’ll visit the Grand Pre Historic Park, a historic site depicting the story of the expulsion of the Acadians, immortalized in Longfellow’s tragic romance “Evangeline.” Lunch will be at a wonderful country inn overlooking the valley. As we make our way into Halifax, our guide will share some of Halifax’s amazing history. The evening will be at your leisure in Halifax, with many dining choices surrounding our hotel.

Day 9 – Halifax

This morning our guide joins us as we continue to sightsee the city of Halifax. From atop Citadel Hill, observe Halifax’s famous, bustling harbor where ships have come and gone for many years. Halifax is the resting place for many Titanic victims, giving us a chance to pay our respects. Travel the Lighthouse Route and on to the lovely seaport village of Lunenburg, the famous shipbuilding and fishing center of Canada. We’ll spot countless islands and coves before arriving in Lunenburg and savor a tasty lunch at the Fish Factory Restaurant. We’ll take a look at the famous Fishermans Museum. We’ll stop for an awe-inspiring stroll along the water’s edge. Our afternoon will take us out to famous Peggy’s Cove, a quaint little fishing village which stands on a solid rock that offers sweeping coastal views. Returning to Halifax, we’ll enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 10 – Halifax to Baddeck

We’ll travel the “Road to the Isles” over the Canso Strait to Cape Breton Island. See Bras d’Or Lake, a beautiful inland sea. Later we will visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Museum which houses Bell’s most remarkable collection of early inventions. Our hotel is located in the heart of Baddeck, a scenic village reflecting the atmosphere of old Scotland. Take some time to stroll through the peaceful fishing village and private coves of Baddeck. Dinner will be at the lodge.

Day 11 – Baddeck

Brace yourself for some of the most breathtaking scenery as we take one of the world’s most scenic drives: the Cabot Trail winds through Cape Breton Highlands National Park, past majestic rock bluffs and through deep stream-lined valleys. We’ll stop along the way at Flora’s gift shop with hand-crafted goods made by the local Acadian French artists in their native traditions. Lunch will be on your own at Pleasant Bay along the beautiful Cabot Trail before we continue exploring Cape Breton Island with many photo stops along the way. Dinner will be served at the lodge tonight.

Day 12 – Baddeck to Prince Edward Island

We’ll ferry to the birthplace of Canada, Prince Edward Island, where unspoiled beauty abounds on this peaceful isle – a favorite summer resort destination. A sunny day on Prince Edward Island is like nowhere else on earth! In Charlottetown we’ll admire lovely Victorian homes and gardens as we tour this historic capital city. Enjoy a visit to the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company & hear how it all began. After an evening meal we’ll be guests at a Ceilidh (house party)! Our home for the next two nights is The Hotel on Pownal, located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown on historic Pownal Street.

Day 13 – Prince Edward Island

Our day starts off with a visit to the Kensington Train Station, which was built in 1905. Discover Green Gables, the literary home of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables.” Visiting the Museum, taking a horse & buggy ride, visiting the Green Gables House, walking the Haunted Woods and Lover’s Lane will bring this classic to life! Our continued tour of this lovely island will display the magnificent beaches of Prince Edward Island National Park and the rich farmlands of red soil and rolling hillsides with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. Prince Edward Island is famous for its lobster, so what better place to learn about the fishing industry in North Rustico before enjoying a maritime lobster dinner this evening at The Fisherman’s Wharf!

Day 14 – PEI to St. Andrew by the Sea

Departing the island, we’ll cross the Northumberland Strait on the Confederation Bridge which spans the island and New Brunswick. Take some time to browse in the local shops and visitor center of the Gateway Village just below the Confederation Bridge. We’ll follow the Kennebecasis River Valley to Saint John, with lunch on our own at the St. Johns Market. Arriving in beautiful St. Andrew by the Sea, we’ll check into the grand Algonquin Hotel. Dinner will be on your own so you may choose from one of the outstanding restaurants in the hotel or select one along the water’s edge in the downtown village.

Day 15 – St. Andrew to Bar Harbor

Embark on a fascinating nature boat cruise along the coastline enroute to Campobello Island, the place where Franklin D. Roosevelt’s summer cottage is set. Later depart for Bar Harbor, which is graced with quaint shops, galleries, and picturesque vistas. Tonight we will enjoy a delicious farewell dinner at the Hotel.

Day 16 – Bar Harbor to Revere, MA

Visit Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island, which offers lovely harbors and coves perfectly nestled among forested lands, then drive the summit of Cadillac Mountain for a spectacular view of the rugged coast. Then we make our way to Revere for the evening.

Day 17 – Revere to Buffalo, NY

Today we say goodbye to our fly group as we drop them off at the Boston airport. We continue our journey in the motorcoach as we head to Buffalo, NY for the evening, having stops along the way for lunch and dinner.

Day 18 – Buffalo to Aurora, IL

Fill up on a delicious breakfast before we board our luxury motorcoach. Fun and games will be had as we motor along the highway, with comfort stops, lunch and dinner along the way. This evening you’ll head to bed and dream about the next R&J Tour that you might want to take!

Day 19 – Aurora to Home

It’s been a wonderful journey with only today left! Have a hearty breakfast and board the motorcoach knowing you are in great hands. Sit back, relax, play a game or two, watch a movie, or just visit with your neighbor…we will stop for coffee breaks and lunch while we reminisce about the fantastic “Nova Scotia in Autumn Tour” that we just took!
