Day 1 – Home to Moline, IL
Enjoy getting to know your traveling companions as we travel today to Moline. We’ll freshen up after checking into our hotel. Then we’re guests aboard the Celebration Belle for a delightful dinner cruise on the mighty Mississippi River!

Day 2 – Moline to Shipshewana, IN
Following breakfast at our hotel, we’ll continue our journey towards Shipshewana with lunch on our own along the way, but first a stop is planned at the exciting Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Indiana. The Studebaker Museum is the premier place for the education, preservation, and interpretation of design and innovation for the overall impact on the world of the automobile and related industries. The 55,000 square foot facility includes three separate levels of climate-controlled exhibit space for the ultimate care of the collection. Be ready to be amazed by the information our docent has for us! Then we’ll continue our drive to the Amish country of Shipshewana and check into the Blue Gate Garden Inn for two nights. After a delicious buffet dinner, we are guests at a Gaither Music Series Concert featuring Jimmy Fortune, Bradley Walker, Mike Rogers, and Ben Issacs! They’ll be singing songs from their Brotherly Love album, which appeals to bluegrass, country, and gospel fans.

Day 3 – Shipshewana
Breakfast is included before we head out on a half day Amish tour. In a region with the best food and homemade goods, this tour taps into decades of experience to bring us the best of the best! At every point we will experience Amish small business at its finest. Then a soup and sandwich lunch will be served at the Blue Gate Restaurant. This afternoon you will have time to shop, ride in a buggy, or just enjoy the lovely town of Shipshewana. Dinner will be served family style with some of your favorite pies for dessert. Then we will enjoy the show, “Dear Solider Boy” – It’s 1990 and Iraq has just invaded Kuwait. Anna King knows that war is contrary to her Amish ways and figures her father might not approve of her getting involved in any way. Yet, wanting to do something to help America’s troops, Anna and her feisty friend Sofia volunteer to write letters of encouragement to the men who are deployed into the conflict. Anna just wants to be a blessing… Sofia just wants to find a husband. What could possibly go wrong with such a pure and noble mission? It turns out plenty! Especially when all these lonely pen pals happen to get a weekend pass to surprise the girls, and end up arriving at Fern’s Cheese Shop where the two girls work – on the very same day!

Day 4 – Shipshewana to Hammond, IN
Enjoy a wonderful breakfast before we make our way to the Menno-Hof Museum to learn about the faith and life of Amish and Mennonites through multi-image presentations, historical environments, and colorful displays. We’ll go on a fascinating journey inside the unique world of the Amish and Mennonites. Lunch will be served at the Blue Gate Restaurant, and of course a great piece of pie is in store! What a wonderful way to end our time in Shipshewana before we depart for Hammond, IN, where we will check into the Hampton Inn & Suites.

Day 5 – Hammond to Home
After breakfast we will make our way home. There will be time to reminisce about the fantastic time we have had together – all the wonderful Amish things we have experienced, the delicious food we’ve partaken in, and the amazing entertainment we’ve enjoyed!
