2. Lincoln to Denver
After breakfast at the hotel depart for Colorado. Enjoy coffee breaks and lunch along the way on your own before we settle into our hotel in Denver for a restful evening.

3. Denver to Grand Junction
Depart this morning after breakfast as we head into the majestic Rocky Mountains.  Today you will experience snow capped peaks as we wind our way to Grand Junction with a stop in Vail, Colorado. Lunch today is served at the historic Hotel Colorado.  Later drive breathtaking Rim Rock Drive featuring 23 miles of breathtaking views.  Your comfortable hotel awaits you this evening.

4. Grand Junction to Bryce Canyon
Travel through beautiful Bryce Canyon, featuring some of the earth’s most colorful rocks.  Take an exhilarating journey to the rim of Bryce Canyon heightened by brilliant sun and sky, and pure air!  The red rock spires and the  deep caverns and rooms present the wildest and most wonderful scenery.

5. Bryce Canyon to Williams
Lake Powell is one of the most scenic lakes in the world.  The sharp blue of the lake in contrast to the sheer red rock walls of Glen Canyon is a sight to behold!  We cross the Glen Canyon Bridge, second highest steel arch bridge in the world at 700 feet above the river.  As we make our way south, we come to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the breathtaking Grand Canyon!  No photograph or description can adequately prepare anyone for that first glimpse of the incredible Grand Canyon.

6. Williams to San Diego
(Our Optional Fly Away group arrives today and joins the motorcoach group in San Diego.) Scenery includes desert mountains and oceanside as we make our way to the Pacific Ocean.  Lunch today is served at the DiNapolis Firehouse Restaurant.  Later, check into your hotel overlooking the breathtaking San Diego Bay for a relaxing 4 nights.  Enjoy your beautiful awarding winning hotel perfectly set on Coronado Island.  Catch the Old Town Trolley near the hotel stopping at all the best sights and shopping.  We tend to find that our guests don’t want to leave this beautiful area.

7. San Diego
We welcome a local step on guide as we tour all the most interesting sights of San Diego and historic Old Town.  Later enjoy a comfortable sightseeing boat cruise of the San Diego Harbor, with sunny decks for our sightseeing pleasure.  The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

8. San Diego
Today you are free to enjoy the beautiful hotel and surrounding area as you wish.  Maybe take the Old Town Trolley, with full narration and stops at all the highlights along the way.  Feel free to get on and off at all your favorites for shopping and sightseeing.  Some may want to browse charming Seaport Village of the Gaslight District.

9. San Diego
Relax by the poolside in the California sunshine, or choose from the many attractions in the area like Sea World with live shows and exhibits of marine life, or venture on an excursion to Tijuana, Mexico for great shopping bargains!  This evening we enjoy an included dinner and show at the elegant Lawrence Welk Theatre.

10. San Diego to Long Beach
After a light breakfast we bid good-bye to San Diego and make our way to beautiful Long Beach.  Enjoy sweeping coastal vistas as we motor along the oceanside.   This evening re-live the golden age of luxurious ocean travel as we board the famous Queen Mary for an elegant dinner.  Take time to walk out on the long decks of this luxurious oceanliner with great views of the ocean!

11. Long Beach
Board a cruiser that will take us to breathtaking Catalina Island.  Enjoy the beauty of the island’s rugged coast.  After a tour of the island, we will arrive in the town of Avalon, with ample time to shop, sightsee, and eat lunch on your own.  Return to Long Beach for a restful evening.  

12. Long Beach to Solvang
This morning attend church at the beautiful Crystal Cathedral.  After the service enjoy lunch at a local favorite restaurant before we journey up the coast with a stop in Santa Barbara to see the Santa Barbara Mission famous for its Spanish-inspired architecture.  Stroll and shop the cobbled streets with quaint shops and beautiful palm trees.  Later, we will settle ourselves in the unique little Danish village of Solvang, nestled in the coastal hills, for a relaxing 2 nights’ stay.

13. Solvang
This morning enjoy some free time to explore this quaint little town.  Take time to browse through the charming shops featuring Danish pastries and imports, and dine in one of Solvang’s delicious Danish cafes!  Join us today for a lovely tour of the famous Firestone Winery and Vineyard.  Return to the hotel for opportunities to relax, shop, and sightsee. This evening enjoy a Danish Smorgasbord Dinner.

14. Solvang to Monterey
Motor through the Santa Inez Mountains, past breathtaking Lake Cacuma to the famous Hearst Castle, the past home of newspaper tycoon William Randolf Hearst.  Later take a breathtaking drive as make our way north.  Tonight we settle ourselves into our hotel for a relaxing 2 nights.

15. Monterey
Experience one of California’s most beautiful coastal drives, the Carmel-Monterey Peninsula and the famous 17-mile drive through Del Monte to Cypress Point, one of the most breathtaking.  Wind through evergreen forests, gorgeous beaches, and twisted cypress.  Take some time for a delightful coffee break and shopping in Carmel by the Sea.  Our outstanding scenery continues as we make our way to spectacular Pebble Beach.  Later, discover Monterey Bay Aquarium – the heart of the nation’s largest marine sanctuary.

16. Monterey to Lake Tahoe
(Fly option group departs for San Francisco and fly home today.)  Leave the California coast and journey to Lake Tahoe.  Visit Old Town Sacramento with some time to browse and have lunch in one of the many restaurants.  We’ll drive by the beautiful capitol building before heading to Lake Tahoe, the “Lake in the Sky.”  This evening enjoy all this beautiful area has to offer.

17. Lake Tahoe to Elko
This morning after a leisurely breakfast we take some time to sightsee this beautiful lake nestled in the mountains.  The scenery will be breathtaking!  We’ll stop in the old west town of Virginia City before continuing to Elko where we will be staying for the evening.  An included lunch is planned along the way.

18. Elko to Salt Lake City
Today we travel to Salt Lake City which lies in a spectacular setting at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains.  Discover how the Mormons built this city, with a visit to the Temple Square, Mormon Temple and Tabernacle.  We’ll also see the site of the Winter Olympics!  Take some time to wander around this interesting area that has much to offer.

19. Salt Lake City to Cheyenne
Enjoy a light breakfast before boarding our coach for a day of traveling across Utah and Wyoming.  This evening relax and enjoy our hotel in Cheyenne. Enjoy a farewell BBQ dinner this evening here in Cheyenne.

20. Cheyenne to Lincoln
After a light breakfast we continue across the landscapes of Wyoming and on to Lincoln for our last overnight.
