Taste of Europe in Wisconsin

Day 1 – Home to Green Bay
We’ll leave Minnesota and head across Wisconsin enjoying the countryside as we head for Green Bay.  We’ll stop for lunch at a favorite restaurant before we continue on, looking out for the famous “Oreo Cows.”  We’ll soon be in “Title Town USA” and take a tour aboard a double-decker bus hearing about the history of this area with rich European and Native American heritage.  As we drive past Lambeau Field you will almost hear the cheering of the crowds and as we drive near the bay, we’ll catch a taste of the grand maritime traditions.  We’ll check into our hotel before our evening meal.
Included Meals:  Dinner
Hotel:  Regency Suites

Day 2 – Manitowoc & Lake Michigan
A smorgasbord day!  We’ll begin by driving to Manitowoc and touring the Natural Ovens Bakery.  As we get close, we’ll smell the bread in the ovens and hear the story of this very successful bakery as we sample some of the breads, bagels, and muffins that are baked here.  Then we’ll head north along the shores of Lake Michigan to see the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.  This museum explores the rich history of Wisconsin which included a submarine building factory during WWII.  We’ll continue north along Lake Michigan enjoying the sights of the Lighthouses and maybe have time for a walk on the beach.  For lunch we will enjoy a Bohemian meal followed by a trip to a winery that is housed in a former brewery built at the end of the civil war. Oh and let’s not forget a stop for an ice cream sundae in Two Rivers—the town made famous for inventing this wonderful treat! Can we find a cheese shop?  We’ll end our day with a Sunset Dinner Cruise on Green Bay!

Day 3 – Green Bay to Milwaukee
On to the historic town of Cedarburg and its 19th-century German and Irish setting along Cedar Creek.  There are more than 100 historically-significant buildings including Cedarburg Mill, a five-story mill in neo-Greek design.  Constructed in 1864 to manufacture woolen goods for the Union Army during the civil war, it now houses a number of quaint shops and restaurants.  Lunch will be at the Bavarian Inn in Glendale.  We’ll have an authentic German meal and accordion music…sing along!  Later we’ll drive into Milwaukee known as the “Munich of the West.”  There we will tour the Miller Brewery and Pabst Mansion.  We’ll also see a chapel that was moved stone by stone from France.  Then we’ll settle into our hotel for the night.

Day 4 – Milwaukee to Home
After breakfast starts off our day, we’ll head for the Wisconsin Dells and Thunder Valley Inn where we’ll experience some Scandinavian Hospitality and enjoy a final meal together along with some special entertainment.  Then it’ll be homeward bound.
