Day 1 Home to Pierre, S.D.
This morning we begin our journey into
the Wild West. Lunch will be on your own
before we visit the Terry Redlin Museum. A
wine and cheese reception awaits us at our
hotel in Pierre, S.D.

Day 2 Pierre to Deadwood
Today we make our way west with a coffee
break stop at the Wall Drug spectacle.
Scenery begins to change as we head into
Spearfish on Shearfish Canyon Drive. Arrive
in Deadwood, an authentic like town rich
in golding mining history and truly a “City
of Gold.” Enjoy the original Deadwood
Tour of this western town with sights such
as Boot Hill Cemetery. Our tour ends at the
Homestead Gold Mine where you will get a
chance to pan for gold. Settle in for a two
night stay at beautiful Silverado Hotel. The
hotel is located on Main Street and the trolley
stops right in front of the hotel. Each passenger
will get a free roundtrip trolley pass.
Be sure to step outside the hotel and witness
the Old West Gunfight/ Shootout.

Day 3 Deadwood
No trip to the Old West would be complete
without a Historic 1880 Train, one of America’s
last steam trains in service. This scenic
ride that takes you through some of the most
beautiful Black Hills scenery around; beautiful
caves that boast some of the largest formations
around you as you experience a trip
back in time! Next visit Mt. Rushmore, the
awesome masterpiece sculpted by Gutzon
Borglum. View the towering stone portraits
of four American presidents, truly one of the
must-see landmark sights in the U.S. Return
to the hotel in deadwood and take some
time to pursue your own interests. Some
may want to do some souveneir shopping
in the many shops. This evening take part
in some old west history as we watch the
evening performance of the play “ The Trial
of Jack McCall,” about the trial of the man
who murdered Wild Bill Hickok.

Day 4 Deadwood to Ucross
This morning as we depart Deadwood
we’ll gaze as the Crazy Horse Memorial
emerges in the Black Hills. View the work
in progress as artisans carve the famous
Lakota warrior out of the mountain; when
this massive project is completed, it will be
the largest rock sculpture in the world. Visit
the Indian Museum of North America, an
impressive collection of more than 20,000
regional North American Indian artifacts.
Arrive at The Ranch at Ucross, a real working
ranch, for a memorable overnight stay.
Ranch experiences include an opportunity
to go horseback riding, fish for trout in Piney
Creek or a stocked trout pond, swim in the
pool, pitch some horseshoes or even hunt
for frogs! Your time at the ranch is certain to
be one of the highlights of your Wild West
vacation. This evening top the night off with
an old-fashioned campfire.

Day 5 Ucross to Cody
Journey through Wyoming’s beautiful Bighorn
Mountains today, past deep canyons,
vast grasslands, and blankets of wildflowers
to historic Cody, founded by the famous
“Buffalo Bill” Cody, from whom the town
got its name. Glimpse the history, culture
and art of the heyday of the American West
at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, where
multiple museums each tell a different side
of the story. Ride the trolley to get a good
overview of this exciting western town. Have
a western dinner and then thrill to bucking
broncos, steer wrestlers, calf ropers and barrel
riders at a real western rodeo tonight.

Day 6 Cody to Medora
Our journey takes us along a scenic byway
into North Dakota. We drive through Theodore
Roosevelt National Park. Our evening
destination is Medora, an authentically restored
pioneer cattle town where we’ll enjoy
a delicious trailside barbeque at Medora’s
famous Pitchfork Steak Fondue before our
entertainment at the breathtaking Burning
Hills Amphitheatre.
