Day 1 – Home to Chicago
This morning we’ll depart on the Empire Builder train to Chicago.  We’ll enjoy the sights along the way, passing Lake Pepin and arriving in Chicago this afternoon at the Union Station.  Your hotel is located in Chicago’s beautiful downtown.  A perfect place to explore this exciting city during the holidays!  This evening you are invited to a dinner reception where we meet our local guide for a fun and interesting introduction to Chicago and the people who live there.  What better way to get a taste of real Chicago then with a famous Stuffed Chicago Style Pizza!  Dine while you visit with your fellow passengers.

Day 2 – Chicago
Our guide joins us for breakfast at “This is Lou Mitchell” Restaurant and bakery located at the beginning of the original “Route 66.”  Everyone from U.S. Presidents, Mayors, Governors, Senators, Representatives, athletes, coaches, authors, judges, lawyers, clergy, and stars of the stage and screen have enjoyed this unique restaurant. It’s a time-honored whistle stop on the campaign trails of many elected officials. Additionally, the restaurant’s patrons have served as a solid source on how Chicagoans really think and feel about a variety of issues. Our sightseeing begins with our guide at the helm.  See historic Water Tower and Pumping Station, trendy Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park, and more.  Visit Magnificent Mile, with its glittering department stores, American Girl Place, and the must see Water Tower vertical shopping mall.  See the Wrigley Building, headquarters of Wrigley Chewing Gum.  This evening take advantage of our new “dine around dinner” with R & J!  You choose from three R & J favorite restaurants, when and where you want.  This evening you’ll enjoy reserved seating at the famous Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular.  For more than three quarters of a century, the Radio City Rockettes have been the world’s most famous precision dance troupe and a legendary force in entertainment.

Day 3 – Chicago
This morning visit the Museum of Science and Industry featuring a display of Christmas trees from around the world.  Later spend time on Magnificent Mile lined with wonderful shops and cafes decorated for the Christmas season.   Arrive at Navy Pier and board the elegant Odyessey boat and cruise along the skyline of Chicago including a visit from Santa.  The remainder of day is at your leisure to pursue your own interests including: Shopping Magnificent Mile and the 14th Annual Lights Festival parade on Michigan Avenue.  The department store’s boast beautiful display windows, the Tiffany ceiling, the pink Christmas tree, and the aquarium of seahorses and Waterford crystal are just some must sees.  Don’t miss the famous fireworks display this evening!

Day 4 – Chicago to Home
Depart for home  by luxury motorcoach with lunch on your own at Burnstad’s European Cafe.  Journey home with wonderful memories that have prepared us for the upcoming Christmas season.
