Chicago Getaway
Day 1 – Home to Chicago
This morning we depart on the Empire Builder train to Chicago. We¹ll enjoy the sights along the way, passing Lake Pepin and arriving in Chicago late afternoon. Our motorcoach will meet us and we¹ll settle into our hotel for a three night stay. This evening get a taste of real Chicago at Giordano’s, world famous for Chicago style pizza! Dine while you visit with your fellow passengers.

Day 2 – Chicago
Enjoy breakfast before our sightseeing begins with our guide at the helm. See historic Water Tower and Pumping Station, trendy Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park, and more. Visit Magnificent Mile, with its glittering department stores, American Girl Place, and the “must see” vertical Water Tower Shopping Mall. See the Wrigley Building, originally built as the headquarters of Wrigley Chewing Gum. Enjoy a tour of Macy’s Department Store (formerly Marshall Fields, learn about the history and see the spectacular Tiffany mosaic dome and more. An outstanding dinner is served here on the historic 7th floor in the Walnut Room where Chicagoans have eaten for generations.

Day 3 – Chicago
This morning enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we leave for Navy Pier. There will be time to explore where all of Chicagoland and visitors alike come together to enjoy all the fun and beauty of a day on Lake Michigan. Step aboard the Spirit of Chicago for a luncheon cruise with unparalleled cruising fun on the lakefront in Chicago. This afternoon we strap a mask and flippers onto your imagination and chart a course to Shedd Aquarium. Have you ever gotten eye-to-eye with a shark? Or followed a sea turtle as she soared through the Caribbean? Or immersed yourself in an Amazon flooded forest? At Shedd, it’s all possible. This evening dinner will be on your own to choose from the restaurants around your hotel. Later we enjoy Broadway’s perfectly magical musical, Mary Poppins!

Day 4 – Chicago to Home
Today we board our motorcoach and depart for home. We¹ll stop at Burnstad¹s European Cafe for lunch on your own. Return home with memories of a great Chicago Getaway!
