Day 2 – Davenport to Shipshewana, IN

After breakfast and an early departure from the hotel, we travel the countryside as we make our way to Shipshewana. We’ll check into the Blue Gate Garden Inn for the next two nights. A family style dinner will be served before we enjoy the Gospel Jubilee Show, filled with toe-tapping, heartwarming gospel music. From a rousing male quartet reminding us to “Have a Little Talk with Jesus” to a soaring ladies trio on “In the Garden,” we’ll find a little bit of church with a little bit of camp-meeting! We’ll put our hands together and sing along with songs like: “Oh Happy Day,” “Softly and Tenderly,” “How Great Thou Art,” “I Saw the Light,” and “Take my Hand, Precious Lord.”

Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Hotel: Blue Gate Garden Inn (2 Nights)

Day 3 – Shipshewana

Enjoy a wonderful breakfast at the Blue Gate. Then we are off on an Amish Backroads tour with a local guide aboard our coach. We’ll travel scenic backroads alongside horse-drawn buggies, see tidy farm homes and white-washed barns along the Heritage Trail. We’ll visit a variety of quaint shops and the beautiful Quilt Gardens filled with thousands of beautiful flowers in quilt themed gardens. Be sure to bring your camera because this is an experience worth capturing! Then we will stop and be taught by a dynamic Amish-Mennonite duo how to make our very own special masterpiece, a Nine Patch quilt block pieced entirely of exotic & local hardwoods. Afterwards we’ll watch Katie’s homemade noodles take shape right before our eyes. A soup and sandwich meal will taste great before we see the Classic Country Countdown Music Revue! Country songs tell stories that will make you weep or get your smiling – and for years have traveled with us through the backroads, rural routes, and thoroughfares of this great land. We’ll take a stroll down memory lane as we listen to the Billy Branson Singers deliver songs like “Stand by your Man,” “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” “I Walked the Line,” “I’m so Lonesome I Could Cry,” “Jolene,” “Crazy,” and “King of the Road.” After this matinee show, we’ll have the chance to refresh at the hotel and you can grab an ice cream treat to tie you over because we have somewhere special to be before dinner! We are guests for the hit musical and Amish love story, “The Confession.” The Confession takes us on the captivating journey of a young Amish woman who is caught in the middle of secrets, scandal plot-twisting surprises. It’s a brilliant love story, with plenty of laughs, and an at-the-edge-of-your-seat mystery all wrapped into one. Come see what happens when the plain, not-so-plain, and downright extravagant lives converge in Blue Gate Musicals’ very first hit. The Confession is based on the Daughters of Lancaster County series by Beverly Lewis and adapted for the stage by the Blue Gate Musicals’ creative team. A wonderful buffet dinner will be served after the show.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 – Shipshewana to Ft. Atkinson, WI

We bid an early farewell to Shipshewana after breakfast. We will travel to Ft. Atkinson and get checked into the Holiday Inn Express. You will have time to freshen up and get ready for a wonderful buffet dinner and show at the Fireside Dinner Theatre. In “Mary Poppins,” the world’s favorite “practically perfect” nanny comes alive on the Fireside stage serving up more than a spoonful of delightful music, high-stepping dancing, and laughter that will transport and enchant us. There is only one word to describe this unforgettable production – “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”
