We’ll enjoy some of the best Amish/Mennonite cooking around; we’ll attend a memorable concert filled with Christmas music; we’ll shop at the Riegsecker Marketplace for locally crafted items; we’ll tour around town in an Amish buggy; and we’ll explore the interesting Menno-Hof Museum to learn all about the faith & life of Amish and Mennonites!
Day 1 – Home to Davenport, IA
All aboard for a wonderful Christmas tour! Enjoy getting to know your traveling companions as we travel today, with several stops along the way until our final arrival in Davenport this evening. We’ll freshen up after checking into our AAA Four-Diamond Marriott Autograph Collection boutique hotel, located in the heart of historic downtown Davenport. Then we head over to the Circa 21 Playhouse for a wonderful dinner and to experience the magic of an old-fashioned Christmas through their “Winter Wonderland” production. In this heartwarming new musical, a dad’s wish to celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas leads him and his family on a magical journey to another time where he learns that while remembering the past is important, the best way to hold on to tradition is to enjoy the Christmas present!

Day 2 – Davenport to Shipshewana, IN
We travel to Shipshewana today. We’ll enjoy a stop for lunch on our own along the way, then we’ll be ready to take in all that Shipshewana has to offer. This is Amish country – a perfect fit for our Christmas journey! This evening we enjoy an Amish buffet dinner before we attend a concert treat of “The Collingsworth Family” at the event center. The Collingsworth Family has been entertaining and inspiring listeners for decades. The excitement, spiritual anointing, family emphasis and musical excellence is something to see and hear!

Day 3 – Shipshewana
Following a delicious breakfast at our hotel, we will visit the Menno-Hof Museum, where we’ll learn about the faith and life of Hutterites, Amish, and Mennonites! Menno-Hof’s multi-image presentations, historical environments, and colorful displays take us on a fascinating journey inside the unique world of the Hutterites, Amish, and Mennonites. After visiting the museum there will be time for a great Amish buggy ride, browsing the many intriguing shops of Shipshewana, and having lunch on your own. Then we will enjoy listening to The Texas Tenors, a 3-time Emmy Award winning classical crossover, trio vocal group formed in 2009 by country singer JC Fisher, Broadway singer Marcus Collins and opera singer John Hagen. We won’t believe our ears when we hear them together! Tonight we will dine together on another wonderful Blue Gate family-style meal. Afterwards, the sparkle of Christmas shines around us through “Lights of Joy,” as we tour through the Christmas lights of Shipshewana. Then we experience the delightful musical, “The good Güt Life! Christmas with the Yoders & Nick!” Simon and Eliza Yoder never expected the special guest that showed up at their front door on Christmas Eve. They didn’t even know the man in the red suit knew where they lived. And, trust us, the man was just as surprised as they were! A collision of traditions, a clash of cultures, and a stranger in search of far more than just an address, this new Yuletide comedy will both entertain and inspire you. “The good Güt Life! Christmas with the Yoders and Nick!” is ninety minutes of ha, ha, ha’s, and ho, ho, ho’s, stories, songs, and everything in between!

Day 4 – Shipshewana to Elkhart Lake, WI
Today with an included lunch along the way, we arrive in Elkhart Lake, WI and check into the beautiful and delightful, Osthoff Resort. Here we are welcome to enjoy the horse drawn carriages, hayrides, first-rate dining, splendid accommodations and unparalleled German hospitality – Just enjoy!!
