Day 1 – Home to Oglesby, IL
With excitement, we’ll set out for Starved Rock Lodge today, with comfort stops and lunch on our own along the way. The historic Lodge is located within picturesque Starved Rock State Park. A delicious dinner is served at the Lodge followed by the “Two for One Broadway Show!” Talented Cynthia & Matt will perform two songs from each of Broadway’s favorite shows along with “Love and Marriage” – where the couple explores through songs the highs & lows of dating, separation, marriage, children, and growing older together with favorites such as You’re the One That I Want, Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better, People Will Say We’re In Love, & more! Between the wonderful Lodge & fun show, it’s a great way to start a tour!

Day 2 – Oglesby to Shipshewana, IN
We’ll enjoy a Lodge breakfast before departing on a narrated, historic trolley tour that will take us to the State Park’s interesting Visitor Center, the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center to watch cargo barges pass through the lock system, and into historic Utica to learn about the Illinois & Michigan Canal. Then we depart for quaint Shipshewana, our home for the next two nights. After checking into our hotel, we’re guests at the Blue Gate Theatre for dinner and a show by the hilarious humorist, Jeanne Robertson! Using her down-home Southern drawl, personal experience, and positively funny style to illustrate that a sense a humor is much more than a laughing matter, it is a strategy for success!

Day 3 – Shipshewana
Enjoy breakfast at leisure before we depart on a fascinating, guided Amish Tour that will provide us with an inside look at their community. Enjoy a soup & sandwich at the Blue Gate Restaurant, then we’re guests at the Blue Gate Event Center to hear the “Gaither Vocal Band.” With their powerhouse vocals, innovative harmonies, and life-altering message of grace, hope, and redemption, the Gaither Vocal Band is incomparable! Next we will experience a peaceful ride through Shipshewana by Amish buggy! There will be a little time for shopping as well before a family-style dinner is served at the Blue Gate Restaurant. Then we are treated to “The Best of Me: A New Musical Comedy.” After one too many burnt batches of bread, two too many crooked quilts and a few more gardening glitches than a person can handle, Rachel Miller decides to step out of her comfort zone on the farm and see how ‘the other half’ lives. After all, she’s seen the Telemundo soap opera actresses on the TV at Walmart. How hard can this acting thing be?!?!? But after trading in the “Amish apple dumpling” for the “Big Apple,” Rachel finds out the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. In fact, there may not be any grass at all! We’ll laugh a lot and may even cry a little as we follow the Amish girl, a fading Broadway star, and a handsome stranger in their quest to find the best of themselves.

Day 4 – Shipshewana to Delavan, WI
After another pleasant breakfast, we depart Shipshewana and travel to Cooks Bison Ranch, located on a peaceful, 83-acre farm setting. Our Ranch tour includes a short video, a question/answer session, a guided covered wagon ride through the ranch to feed the bison herd, and a BBQ lunch! Then we travel to Delavan, WI. After checking in to the Comfort Suites, we’ll head to the Rosewood for a farm fresh buffet and “The Beat Goes On” show. This upbeat show will have you tapping your toe to hits by Glenn Miller Band, Chuck Berry, The Andrews Sisters, Elvis, Ray Charles, Carl Perkins, The Monkees, Jerry Lee Lewis, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Jackson Five, Johnny Cash & more!

Day 5 – Delavan to Home
Enjoy our last meal together before we make our way home, with comfort stops and lunch on your own along the way. We will reminisce about all the great music we’ve listened to, all the laughs we have shared together, and all the wonderful sights we’ve experienced over the last few days!
