1. Home – Boston
We board our flight and journey through Grand New England in the Autumn.  Arrive in Boston the “Cradle of American Independence.”  Your hotel awaits you for a relaxing two night stay.  Dinner is included this evening at the hotel.

2. Boston
Spend a full day of sightseeing Boston’s most historic and fascinating sights.  Travel to Cambridge including a stroll through Harvard Yard.  Experience the Freedom Trail, a journey through history highlighting Quincy Market Place, Faneuil Hall, Charles Street featuring fine antique shops and Boston Commons.  See the old North Church and the USS Constitution.  The day will be exciting as American history unfolds before your very eyes.  Visit Lexington and Concord to see the battle sites of 1775.   Explore the lively marketplace in Faneuil Hall or see the red-brick townhouses, quaint boutiques, outdoor cafés and art galleries lining Newbury Street.  Lunch and dinner are on your own today giving you opportunity to choose from the countless cafes and restaurants.

3. Boston – Hyannis, Cape Cod
Travel south to the town of Plymouth just south of Boston.  See Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II, a replica of the original before visiting Plimoth Plantation, an amazingly accurate depiction of 17th century life. Continue on to Hyannis, Cape Cod for a relaxing two night stay.  Dinner this evening is at the Daniel Webster Inn in Sandwich, the oldest village on the cape and famous for it’s glassware. Enjoy this historic inn featuring outstanding cuisine.

4. Cape Cod
Sightsee the beautiful Cape today as we motor along the “Arm of the Cape” offering some of the most beautiful scenery.  Visit Cape Cod National Seashore Interpretation Center before arriving in Provincetown, a delightfully busy summer community and great place for some leisure time. Venture into the water off the Cape where a large number of whales frequent. (weather permitting) A guided cruise helps us discover these amazing creatures in their habitat.  See the traditional clapboard cottages lining the shores of the Atlantic.  As the sun sets over the Atlantic Waters we’ll experience a traditional clam bake dinner, an evening you will long remember.

5. Cape Cod – Sturbridge Village
Sightsee Newport, America’s Yachting Community.  Motor along the famous “Ten Mile Drive” featuring many superb estates and mansions.  Stroll Bowen’s Wharf or make some purchases at the many shops along Thames Street before we continue to Sturbridge, Mass; a charming off the beaten path village with quiet beauty.  This evening dinner is at the Publick House Historic Inn which dates back over 200 years.  Enjoy an award winning Yankee feast here at the inn.

6. Sturbridge Village – Plymouth
Travel into the Berkshire Mountains to charming Stockbridge.  Enjoy an in-depth look at the life and talent of the beloved illustrator, Norman Rockwell. View many of his famous Saturday Evening Post covers at the Norman Rockwell Museum. Later visit the New England Maple Museum and learn about the 200 year old history of maple syrup.  Arrive in Plymouth, and visit the birthplace of Calvin Coolidge, and see the historic buildings constructed by his father in 1890.  Your charming country inn is nestled among 1,200 pristine acres in the heart of Vermont’s breathtaking Green Mountains  President Calvin Coolidge, who loved to stroll the very same woods in which Hawk Inn, once wrote: “There is healing in the trees for tired minds. 7. Plymouth
Breakfast is served at the hotel before we visit the quintessential village of Woodstock.   This charming Vermont village features a quaint covered bridge and atmosphere reminiscent of 19th -century England.  Later visit Billings Farm and Museum which provides insights into life in rural Vermont, past and present.   Return to the inn for a restful evening and dinner.

8. Plymouth to North Conway
Continue into the splendor of the White Mountains of New Hampshire with a fun stop at Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory.  Stop in Stowe, Vermont a favorite mountain resort village.  The awesome beauty of Franconia Notch, and Vermont’s famous Green Mountains is a highlight of all New England tours.  Motor along the Kangamangus Highway boasting 800,000 acres of White Mountain National Forest.  Settle into North Conway at an outstanding country inn for a relaxing  two nights in a peaceful setting.

9. North Conway
Breakfast is served at the hotel before we sightsee by rail and boat.  First we’ll board a trail for a for a ride among beautiful scenery.  Visit lovely Lake Winnipesaukee for a cruise on the famous Mount Washington boat.  Stop in charming Wolfeboro, the “oldest summer resort in America.”   Return to the country inn for a restful evening.

10. North Conway – Portsmouth
Motor to the coast and south along the rocky coastline of Maine through famous Boothbay and on to Bailey Island for a lobster lunch at a famous Lobster House Restaurant.  In Portland take a scenic and educational cruise along the famous Portland Harbor on board a lobster boat.  See harbor seals frolic and lobster boats hauling their traps.  Take photos of the most beautiful lighthouse in the country, Portland Head Lighthouse.  Pass through  Kennebunkport one of the coasts most famous seaside villages.  Arrive in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, first settled by Europeans in the 17th century. This evening is at your leisure to enjoy the spectacular Sheraton Harborside set beautifully on the historic Portsmouth harbor.  Maybe take a stroll along the harbor tonight.

11. Portsmouth to Home
Follow the route of Paul Revere’s ride through Lexington and Concord to warn the citizens that the British were coming!  Stop in Salem, infamous for it’s witches, Salem also features lovely townhouses and beautifully preserved pre-1900 residences.  Continue to Boston and catch our late afternoon flight for home.
