Day 1 – Home to Boston
We’ll board our morning flight to Boston, and then meet our local expert guide as we explore Boston making history come alive right before our eyes:  From Boston Common to Old North Church where Paul Revere got the signal to start his famous ride, Freedom Trail and Faneuil Hall.  Enjoy the evening and a welcome dinner at the lovely Sheraton Hotel.

Day 2 –  Boston to Bar Harbor
After breakfast, we’ll take a drive up the coastline of Maine to Bar Harbor.  Along the way, we will visit Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s home town of Portland, with time for lunch and strolling along the wharf before continuing on to Bar Harbor.  A relaxing evening in Bar Harbor beckons.

Day 3 – Bar Harbor to Halifax
We will board the CAT Ferry for our trip to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, where we will clear Canadian Customs.  Travel will be on the Lighthouse Route and on to the lovely seaport village of Lunenburg, the famous shipbuilding and fishing center of Canada.  Before touring the Fisheries Museum, we’ll savor a tasty dinner at the Fish Factory Restaurant. We’ll stop for an awe-inspiring stroll along the waters’ edge.  As we continue up the coast, we’ll spot countless islands and coves.  The next three nights will be spent at the Radisson Suites Hotel in the heart of Halifax.

Day 4 – Halifax
Morning sightseeing of the city of Halifax is arranged with a local guide.  Observe atop Citadel Hill: the bustling harbor front with Halifax’s famous harbor where ships have come and gone for many years.  Halifax is the resting place for many Titanic victims and we’ll have a chance to pay our respects.  We’ll see Northwest Arm, a beautiful residential area.  Lunch will be served at one of the area’s outstanding waterfront restaurants.  Our afternoon will take us out to famous Peggy’s Cove, a quaint little fishing village which stands on a solid rock that offers sweeping coastal views.

Day 5 – Halifax
On the agenda: a fascinating drive through the tidelands of the Bay of Fundy where the greatest rise and fall in tides exists.  We’ll pass through Halls Harbor, famous for its phenomenal harbor, which can see a dramatic change in the water level.  Charming coastal villages reflecting Acadian French history dot the shoreline.  We’ll visit the Memorial Park Grand Pre, a historic site depicting the story of the expulsion of the Acadians, immortalized in Longfellow’s tragic romance “Evangeline.”  Lunch will be at a wonderful country inn overlooking the valley.  The evening will be at your leisure in Halifax, with many dining choices surrounding our hotel.

Day 6 – Halifax to Baddeck
We’ll travel the “Road to the Isles” over the Conso Strait to Cape Breton Island, rich in fall colors.  See Bras d’Or Lake, a beautiful inland sea.  Later we will visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Park which houses Bell’s most remarkable collection of early inventions.  Our resort is set along the hillside with views of the shores of Bras d’Or Lake, located in the heart of Baddeck, a scenic village reflecting the atmosphere of old Scotland.  Take some time to stroll through the peaceful fishing village and private coves of Baddeck.  Dinner will be at the lodge.

Day 7 – Baddeck
Brace yourself for some of the most breathtaking scenery as we take one of the world’s most scenic drives: the Cabot Trail winds through Cape Breton Highlands National Park, past majestic rock bluffs, through deep stream-lined valleys, and over the summits of lofty peaks.  We’ll stop along the way at Flora’s gift shop with hand-crafted goods made by the local Acadian French artists in their native traditions.  Lunch will be on your own at Pleasant Bay along the beautiful Cabot Trail before we continue exploring Cape Breton Island in all its autumn splendor with many photo stops along the way.  Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 8 – Baddeck to PEI
We’ll ferry to the birthplace of Canada, Prince Edward Island, where unspoiled beauty abounds on this peaceful isle–a favorite summer resort destination.  A sunny day on Prince Edward Island is like nowhere else on earth!  In Charlottetown, we’ll admire lovely Victorian homes and gardens.  Prince Edward Island is famous for its lobster, so what better place to enjoy a maritime lobster dinner in the evening!

Day 9 – Prince Edward Island
Our tour of this lovely island will display the magnificent beaches of Prince Edward Island National Park and the rich farmlands of red soil and rolling hillsides with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.  Enjoy lunch on your own at a favorite countryside restaurant.  Visit Green Gables, the literary home of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables.”  You’ll be evening guests at Rainbow Valley frolic house party featuring great food and local talent.

Day 10 – PEI/St. Andrew by the Sea
Departing the island we’ll cross the Northumberland Strait on the Confederation Bridge which spans the Island and New Brunswick.  Take some time to browse in the local shops and visitor center of the Gateway Village just below the Confederation Bridge.  We’ll follow the Kennebecasis River Valley to St. John’s, a historic Canadian port city.  Arriving in beautiful St. Andrew by the Sea, we’ll check into the grand Algonquin Hotel.  Dinner will be on your own so you may choose from the outstanding restaurants in the hotel or select one along the water’s edge in the downtown village.

Day 11 – St. Andrew to Bar Harbor
Embark on a fascinating nature boat cruise along the coastline en route to Campobello Island, the place where Franklin D. Roosevelt’s summer cottage is set.  Later depart for Bar Harbor, which is graced with quaint shops, galleries, and picturesque vistas.  You’ll be on your own for dinner as Bar Harbor offers a variety of charming restaurants and cafes, many on the lovely waterfront.

Day 12 – Bar Harbor
Visit Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island, which offers lovely harbors and coves perfectly nestled among forested lands, then drive the summit of Cadillac Mountain for a spectacular view of the rugged coast.  Take some time to allow Bar Harbor’s colorful past come to life before our farewell dinner celebration.

Day 13 – Bar Harbor to Home
Continue down the coast to Boston where we’ll catch our flight home.Included Meals: Breakfast
