1st Day Home to Boston
This morning we board our flight for Boston. We’ll check into the lovely Sheraton Hotel and freshen up for a welcome dinner at the hotel this evening.

2nd Day Boston to Portland
After breakfast a local expert guide helps us explore Boston making history come alive right before our eyes. From Boston Common to Old North Church where Paul Revere got the signal to start his famous ride, Freedom Trail, and Faneuil Hall, with time to browse through Quincy Market. Take a drive up the coastline of Maine to Portland, Maine where our overnight cruise ship awaits to take us to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. R & J Tours has reserved “A” category cabins with private bath for our guests. Aboard the “Scotia Prince” you may enjoy dining, musical revues, and bargain shopping.

3rd DAY Yarmouth to Halifax
Arrive in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia where we will clear Canadian Customs. Motor along the shore dotted with charming coastal villages reflecting French Acadian history. Travel the Lighthouse Route and on to the lovely seaport village of Lunenburg, the famous shipbuilding and fishing center of Canada. Enjoy lunch at a local favorite restaurant, before touring the Fisheries Museum. Later stop at famous Peggy’s Cove, a quaint little fishing village which stands on a solid rock offering sweeping coastal vistas. Take some time to stroll along the waters’ edge which is awe-inspiring. View countless islands and coves as we continue up the coast. The next three nights will be spent at the Radisson Suites Hotel in the heart of Halifax.

4th Day Halifax
This morning we sightsee the city of Halifax with a local guide. Enjoy a view atop Citadel Hill, the bustling harbor front with Halifax’s famous harbor where ships have come and gone for many years. Halifax is the resting place for many Titanic victims and you’ll have a chance to pay your respects. You’ll also see Northwest Arm, a beautiful residential area. A charming lunch is served at one of Halifax’s outstanding waterfront restaurants before some free time here in Halifax. Some may want to visit the Maritime Museum or just browse the many charming shops along the waterfront.

5th Day Halifax
Today we drive through the tidelands of the Bay of Fundy where the greatest rise and fall in tides exists. Pass through Windsor, famous for its phenomenal harbor, which can see a dramatic change in the water level. Visit the Grand Pre Memorial Park, a historic site depicting the story of the expulsion of the Acadians, and was immortalized in Longfellow’s tragic romance, “Evangeline”. Lunch is at a wonderful country inn overlooking the valley. This evening is at leisure in Halifax. You may choose from one of the many dining choices surrounding your hotel.

6th Day Halifax to Baddeck
Travel the “Road to the Isles,” over the Conso Strait, to Cape Breton Island, rich in fall colors. See Bras d’Or Lake, a beautiful inland sea. Later we will visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Park which houses Bell’s most remarkable collection of early inventions. This evening your resort is set along the hillside with views of the shores of Bras d’Or Lake, located in the heart of Baddeck, a scenic village reflecting the atmosphere of old Scotland. Take some time tonight to stroll the peaceful fishing village and private coves of Baddeck. Dinner is at the lodge tonight.

7th Day Baddeck
Today see some of the most breathtaking scenery as we tour one of the world’s most scenic drives, the Cabot Trail, as it winds through Cape Breton Highlands National Park, past majestic rock bluffs, through deep stream-lined valleys and over the summits of lofty peaks. Visit Flora’s gift shop with hand-crafted goods made by the local French Acadian artists in their native traditions along the way. Enjoy lunch on your own at Pleasant Bay along the beautiful Cabot Trail before we continue exploring Cape Breton Island in all its autumn splendor with many photo stops along the way. Dinner is served at the hotel this evening.

8th Day Baddeck to Prince Edward Island
Ferry to the birthplace of Canada, Prince Edward Island. See the unspoiled beauty of this peaceful island. A sunny day on Prince Edward Island is like nowhere else on earth and is a favorite summer resort destination. Arriving in Charlottetown, we’ll sightsee the lovely Victorian homes and lovely gardens. Prince Edward Island is famous for its lobster – so what better place to enjoy a maritime lobster dinner this evening!

9th Day Prince Edward Island
Tour this lovely island including the magnificent beaches of Prince Edward Island National Park. Travel through the rich farmlands of red soil and rolling hillsides with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. Enjoy lunch on your own at a favorite countryside restaurant. Visit Green Gables, the literary home of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables.” This evening you are guests at Rainbow Valley Frolic house party featuring great food and local talent.

10th Day PEI to St. Andrew by the Sea
On our departure from the island we’ll cross the Northumberland Strait on the Confederation Bridge which spans the Island and New Brunswick. Take some time to browse the local shops and visitor center of the Gateway Village just below the Confederation Bridge. We’ll follow the Kennebecasis River Valley to St. John’s, a historic Canadian port city. Arriving in beautiful St. Andrew by the Sea, we’ll check into the grand seaside Algonquin Hotel. Dinner is on your own this evening so you may choose from the outstanding restaurants in the hotel or select one along the waters edge in the downtown village.

11th Day St. Andrews By The Sea to Bar Harbor
Embark on a fascinating nature boat cruise along the coastline enroute to Campobello Island, the place where Franklin D. Roosevelt’s summer cottage is set. Later depart for Bar Harbor which is graced with quaint shops, galleries, and picturesque vistas. This evening you may dine on your own as Bar Harbor offers many charming restaurants.

12th Day Bar Harbor
This morning we sightsee Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island which offers lovely harbors and coves perfectly nestled among forested lands. We’ll drive the summit of Cadillac Mountain for a spectacular view of the rugged coast. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Take some time here to allow Bar Harbor’s colorful past come to life. Join us for a farewell dinner celebration.
