Join us as we travel to Willmar, Minnesota, home for over 20 years to the R&J Tours Company! Find out why we love our way of life in our hometown. We will pick you up right at your front door – classic R&J style! – and our journey west to Willmar will begin. Enjoy a nice welcome & a breakfast brunch at our convention center followed by a stop at the R&J Tours office to meet the entire R&J Family & see where our adventures first start! You will enjoy a city tour led by our owners & CEO, who have spent almost all of their lives right here. We have picked out many neat, local restaurants to experience as we fellowship together. You’ll be entertained one evening by “The Drowsy Chaperone,” showing at Willmar’s great Barn Theatre.
You will be fascinated by the history of our wonderful town during a tour thru Willmar’s Museum & historical sights. One of the tour’s highlights will be taking in a ball game at the Stinger’s ballpark, Bill Taunten Stadium. This is Northwoods baseball at its best! R&J will entertain you at our bullpen suite, complete with BBQ and fun & games. You will also be guests at a Pancake Feed at the fire station and have reserved seating at the Grande Day Parade of Willmar Fests, a celebrated Willmar tradition for many years.
The Little Crow Ski Team, the area’s foremost ski team show, will put on quite the performance as we watch from our bleacher seating. Following the show, fireworks will erupt over Willmar Lake.
Enjoy a little bit of shopping and strolling though Willmar’s Becker Market street fair. A tour through Mr. B’s Chocolate Factory is planned, where you will be treated to the best chocolate found anywhere in the U.S.A.
We will travel north of Willmar to the small town of New London, located on the Mill Pond. Browse the quaint shops & take in the picturesque scene of “a little bit of New England.” Our final treat will be a morning brunch cruise on beautiful Green Lake in Spicer.
On our way back to the Twin Cities, we will stop in Darwin to view the “world’s largest ball of twine.” As you settle back in your seat, you may catch yourself daydreaming of our beautiful city and its small town friendly atmosphere. Join us for a small town experience to R&J Tour’s hometown!
