Day 1- Home to Lincoln, NE

We become snowbirds as we leave winter behind and begin our journey to the warm Southwest! We will have lunch and coffee stops along the way while getting to know your new travel partners as we motor down the highway to our home for the evening. Enjoy a leisurely dinner on your own.

Day 2 – Lincoln, NE to Denver, CO

Enjoy a scrumptious hot breakfast before boarding the motor coach for our travels to the mile high city of Denver. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own at one of the many restaurants in downtown Denver and take in some of the sights and sounds of this magnificent city!

Day 3 – Denver to Grand Junction, CO

Rise early and have a hearty breakfast before our early departure on Amtrak. We will take to the rails from Denver to Grand Junction, watching as the city fades away and the beautiful mountain scenery floats by for the next several hours. The day ends with an included meal and memories of wonderful train ride.

Day 4 – Grand Junction to Bryce Canyon

After enjoying a great breakfast, hop on the motorcoach as we head towards the crimson-colored rock formations of Bryce Canyon. Have your cameras ready, as we will have many photo opportunities today! Tonight dinner is included at the Cowboy’s Buffet and Steak at Ruby’s Inn.

Day 5 – Bryce Canyon to Grand Canyon

Rise and Shine! Breakfast is served at the hotel and then we are off to the Grand Canyon where we will have a step-on guide give us a facinating tour of this magnificent splendor of beauty and awe. We’ll check into our home for the evening and enjoy an included dinner together.

Day 6 – Grand Canyon to Phoenix

Wake up this morning to coffee and breakfast at the hotel before boarding the motor coach and heading to our home for the next four nights in Scottsdale, AZ. Along the way we will take the Oak Creek Canyon Drive where there will be a few hairpin turns and switchbacks while you relish in the beauty and enchantment of Northern Arizona. Stop in the picturesque town of Sedona with its breathtaking red rock formations serving as a backdrop! Enjoy a jeep ride through Coyote Canyon where your personal driver will take you through trails of Sedona’s hidden canyonlands and geological history. Continue to the “Valley of the Sun,” Phoenix, Arizona for a relaxing four night stay in our suites in Old Town Scottsdale. Those who signed up for the fly option join us today!!

Day 7 – Phoenix

A local step on guide will enhance all the history and sights that the Phoenix area has to offer. Enjoy the beauty and vitality of downtown Phoenix, a modern city on the move! Return to the hotel for some free time. This evening we will enjoy an included dinner.

Day 8 – Phoenix

Today we depart the hotel for the day and make a stop at the Orange Patch for a tour and tasting! We then take a short scenic drive along the Apache Trail to the Superstition Mountains with a delicious included lunch at the famous Tortilla Flats, complete with the World’s Best Killer Chili, and lively entertainment. Enjoy a relaxing cruise by steamboat on Arizona’s beautiful desert Canyon Lake. Experience the splendor of the canyon, wildlife, and unique desert plants. We arrive at the Goldfield’s Mining Camp for a short visit and then this evening attend the Barleen Family’s Arizona Opry, music and dinner show.

Day 9 – Phoenix

After a relaxful breakfast, pursue your own interests today. Perhaps you have friends or relatives vacationing in the area and you’d like to connect with them or maybe you’d prefer to just sit, relaxing in the Arizona sun!

Day 10 – Phoenix to Tucson

Journey to the “most sunny city” Tucson, Arizona. Today we visit the Mineral Discovery Center where you will tour a working open-pit copper mine, then you will have time to browse in the gift shop where they have a variety of Southwestern arts and crafts by local artisans as well as jewelry and copper home décor. Then we head to the Titan Missile Museum which showcases the Cold War between the U.S. and former Soviet Union and provides a vivid education about the history of nuclear conflict – a history of keeping the peace. Visit the underground missile complex. Walk in the footsteps of the men and women who built, maintained and crewed the mighty Titan. Our next stop is the beautiful San Xavier Mission, the oldest intact European structure in Arizona, the church’s interior is filled with marvelous original statuary and mural paintings. Check into our home for the next three nights and enjoy a relaxing evening on your own.

Day 11 – Tucson

We’ll make a stop at the De Grazia Art Gallery, a landmark in Tucson that welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Later, we’ll enjoy a narrated tram tour of Sabino Canyon where waterfalls, flowing mountain streams, clear cool pools, and rock walls hundreds of feet high create a marvelous natural environment. Tonight enjoy an included dinner at Tanque Verde Ranch.

Day 12 – Tucson

Enjoy breakfast before heading out for the day! Our first stop is the Arizona – Sonora Desert Museum. This 98 acre Desert Museum is a fusion experience: zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum, and aquarium. It is widely recognized throughout the world as a model institution for innovative presentation and interpretation of native plants and animals featured together in ecological exhibits. We then depart for Old Tucson Studios, it’s a step back in time in the old west town made famous as the location for more than 300 movies and TV shows! Visit the Old Tucson Story Museum to learn the amazing history of Old Tucson and see original costumes worn by the stars of legendary television series including Little House on the Prairie and Bonanza.

Day 13 – Tucson to Lordsburg, NM

After an enjoyable breakfast the flyaway group departs and the motorcoach group drives east towards Lordsburg, New Mexico. But first we make a stop at the Kartchner Caverns where we will have a walking tour and see amazing discoveries past, present and future. Marvel at the many strange and colorful formations and discover the role that water plays in creating the caverns. Then on to Tombstone, Arizona “The Town Too Tough To Die,” the most authentic western town left in the United States! Next we’ll visit a Pecan Farm in Wilcox, Arizona where you can sample or purchase these wonderful Arizona pecans!! Tonights included dinner will be at a local favorite restaurant in Lordsburg, New Mexico.

Day 14 – Lordsburg to Roswell, NM

Enjoy a refreshing breakfast at the hotel before departing for our next stop which is White Sands National Monument where we will see the glistening white sands of New Mexico with a step-on guide joining us. Lunch will be included at a local favorite in Alamagordo before we visit Eagle Ranch, home of The Heart of the Desert Pistachio where we will get an in-depth look at just how delicious pistachios are grown and processed. Enjoy a relaxing evening and dinner on your own.

Day 15 – Roswell to Oklahoma City, OK

After a comforting breakfast, we motor along to our next destination and our home for the evening in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The evening is free to do as you please.

Day 16 – Oklahoma City to Kansas City, MO

Rise and shine to a wonderful breakfast before boarding the motorcoach for our journey northward to Kansas City – our home away from home for the night. Enjoy the Manager’s Kickback reception at the hotel.

Day 17 – Kansas City to Home

Enjoy one last breakfast before journeying homeward and reminiscing with your new travel friends about the wonderful Arizona tour you just took!
