R&J extends a special invitation for YOU to come & see why we feel Winnipeg is truly a special gem of a city that is often overlooked! Join us, we promise you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Day 1 – Home to Winnipeg

With excitement, we’ll be on the way to Winnipeg and check into our hotel to freshen up before an included welcome dinner. For the next four nights we are guests at the Historic Fort Garry Hotel with modern-day style and convenient location in the heart of Downtown Winnipeg.

Included Meals: Dinner

Hotel: Historic Fort Garry Hotel (4 Nights)

Day 2 – Winnipeg

Have you ever wanted to visit Churchill and see the polar bears? We will have an opportunity to see these magnificent creatures face to face as we visit the exhibit “Journey to Churchill” during our guided tour at the Assiniboine Park Zoo and Gardens. After a box lunch at the park, a local guide joins us as we explore this beautiful city with its unique cosmopolitan sights. Sights include the Historic Exchange District, the Legislative Building, and the “French Quarter” with the St. Boniface Cathedral as well as a walking tour of the historic “Forks.” Return to the hotel and enjoy some free time before attending Folklorama, the world’s largest and longest-running multicultural festival. We will sample cuisine and celebrate the cultural and ethnic heritage of people from 3 different cultures who have made Winnipeg their home. Each pavilion presents a show featuring the song and dance of their culture, along with trademark ethnic cuisine and a cultural display. It is a night you won’t soon forget!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Winnipeg

After breakfast we tour the Winnipeg Royal Canadian Mint, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility established in 1976. They say that money makes the world go ‘round’ and here’s our chance to see first-hand where it all begins. Then we visit Fort Gibraltar on the banks of the Red River, where colorful characters depicting life in 1815 greet us & take us to a time past. A traditional French lunch is served at the Fort. This afternoon we’ll take a self-guided tour of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, which will take us on a journey of education and inspiration unlike anything we’ve experienced before. Afterwards we’ll return to the hotel, which is within walking distance to the Forks. During some afternoon and evening free time you may choose to visit the Forks, Winnipeg’s number one tourist destination, located at the junction of the Assiniboine & mighty Red Rivers. The Forks has been a meeting place for over 6,000 years for early Aboriginal trading, fur trading, Scottish settlers, and tens of thousands of immigrants. Rich in history and natural beauty, it now has an array of dining and shopping experiences.

Included Meals: Lunch

Day 4 – Winnipeg

Today we’re special guests at a Hutterite Colony for a home-cooked lunch and tour. We will tour their school, church, farm site, and family home. If we are lucky, we will be serenaded by their pre-school students who are just learning English and the young ladies during our shared lunch with the residents of the colony. This will be a memory you will long remember as this personal visit reflects their ways, beliefs, and progressive farming techniques. Tonight, we attend a live musical production at one of Winnipeg’s local theaters.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 – Winnipeg to Home

Enjoy our last meal together before our journey home begins. We’ll stop at the border for some duty-free shopping and then reminisce together about our exciting experiences as “World Travelers.”
