Day 1 – Home to Ft. Atkinson, WI
With bags all packed and in hand, we are ready to take an unforgettable Christmas themed journey. We’ll have breaks along the way and make our first stop in Ft. Atkinson, WI. Upon arrival we will check into the Holiday Inn Express, all dressed up in its Christmas finery. We will get settled into our rooms before heading to the Fireside Dinner Theatre. Our evening begins with their famous dinner buffet featuring many delicacies created by their chefs. We’re sure everyone will find an item or two to their satisfaction! Following dinner we will be treated to the spectacular production of “Elf the Musical!” Elf is a musical based on the movie by the same name. William “Buddy” Hobbs, a young orphan child, mistakenly crawls into Santa Claus’ bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. After discovering the baby, Santa and his elves decide to raise the child as an elf. Years later, Buddy finds out that he’s actually a human being and, at Santa’s prompting, heads off to New York City in search of his father, Walter Hobbs. Faced with the harsh reality that Walter is on the naughty list and his half-brother, Michael, doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his birth family and help New York City remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Day 2 – Ft. Atkinson to Frankenmuth, MI
After an included breakfast at the hotel we depart on our day’s journey to Frankenmuth, MI. We will drive through the Chicago area and into Indiana, with stops along the way, and finally reach our destination for the next two nights, The Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth! Dusk is upon us as we arrive so we can see all the wonderful Christmas decorations all over town! We get settled into our rooms, which include our very own Christmas Tree! Then we journey back across the covered bridge to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant for a wonderful family style chicken dinner!

Day 3 – Frankenmuth
After a wonderful breakfast in Oma’s Restaurant, conveniently located in the Lodge, we depart the hotel for a tour of Frankenmuth with our own step-on guide. After the city tour we will visit Michigan’s Military and Space Museum. Our next stop is the world’s largest Christmas Store, Bronner’s! We will take time to do some shopping and have a light lunch on our own at their “Snack Bar.” We will return to the hotel for some R & R before we depart for Flint, MI. We will enjoy a Christmas buffet dinner in the Village Warehouse. After dinner explore the shops of Christmas Village before embarking on the Huckleberry Railroad for a festive train ride, complete with views of magnificent Christmas lights!

Day 4 – Frankenmuth to Oakbrook Terrace, IL
After another breakfast at Oma’s Restaurant, we will begin our journey back to Minnesota. We will travel the same roadways as we did on our journey to Frankenmuth, with stops along the way, before we make our stop in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. We will check into the Hilton Garden Inn with time to settle into our rooms before we depart on a short walk across the parking lot to the Drury Lane Theatre. If you’ve never been to the Drury Lane Theatre, you are in for a very pleasant experience! Classy and beautiful, it is famous for outstanding theatre productions. We will have a wonderful dinner before seeing the nine-time Tony nominated musical, “Beauty and the Beast.” Be awed as the dramatic story unfolds: Trapped in her provincial town life, an intelligent, young beauty risks everything to become the heroine of her own story and break a wicked spell imprisoning a castle full of enchanting misfits and a terrifying beast.

Day 5 – Oakbrook Terrace to Home
We will enjoy a wonderful hot breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn preparing us for a comfortable journey home. Together we will recall wonderfully festive memories of A Frankenmuth Christmas!
