Day 1 – Overnight Flight to Holland, Netherlands 

Sit back and relax as we embark on a remarkable journey on this trip of a lifetime! An R&J Tour Director is there to assist you throughout the tour. 

 

Day 2 – Arrive Amsterdam 

Welcome to Amsterdam! Upon arrival, we transfer to our 4-star Leonardo Amsterdam City Centre hotel, we’ll settle into our comfortable rooms before embarking on a relaxing sightseeing cruise along Amsterdam’s iconic canals. We’ll toast our arrival with a glass of prosecco as we take in the city’s historic architecture from the water. Later, enjoy a guided walking tour through the charming Jordaan neighborhood, famed for its quaint streets and rich cultural history. Our day ends with a delicious 3-course dinner at a local restaurant, offering a perfect introduction to Dutch cuisine.

Day 3 – Amsterdam 

We will start our day with a hearty breakfast before a full day of exploration in Amsterdam. A local guide will take us through the world-renowned Van Gogh Museum, where we’ll marvel at masterpieces by the iconic artist. Continue the excitement with a unique Champagne Surprise Tour at a diamond factory. Sip champagne while learning about the art of diamond cutting, and one lucky guest may discover a genuine diamond in their glass! In the evening, we’ll enjoy another fabulous 3-course dinner at a local restaurant before a convenient transfer back to our hotel.

Day 4 – Amsterdam 

Today, we will immerse ourselves in the beauty of Holland’s springtime treasures. Our day begins with a visit to the breathtaking Keukenhof Gardens, a vibrant showcase of millions of tulips and other blooming flowers. Stroll through the colorful landscapes and take in the stunning views. After a delightful two-course lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Tulip Experience Amsterdam, where we’ll learn about the history of tulip cultivation and even pick our own flowers to take with us. Return to Amsterdam for a relaxed evening.

Day 5 – Amsterdam to Delft 

Bid farewell to Amsterdam and journey to new adventures! We will begin our day with an early visit to the Royal FloraHolland Flower Auction, where we’ll witness the dynamic world of the flower trade in action. Then, travel to the charming open-air museum of Zaanse Schans, where we are granted access to historic windmills, museums, and artisan workshops. In the evening, check into the Grand Museum Hotel for a two-night stay, and enjoy a relaxed dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 – Delft 

Delve into Dutch art and craftsmanship in Delft and The Hague. Start with a visit to the Royal Delft Museum, where we will try our hand at painting traditional Delftware tiles during a workshop. Continue to the capital city of the province of South Holland, The Hague, for a guided tour of the Mauritshuis Museum, home to masterpieces like The Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer. Conclude the day with a sumptuous 3-course dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7 – Delft to Brussels, Belgium 

Cross into Belgium for the next phase of our journey. Begin the day with a guided walking tour of Antwerp, including a visit to the magnificent Cathedral of Our Lady, the largest Gothic-style church in Belgium with a tower rising 404 feet over the city. Continue to Brussels for a history tour with indulgent tastings of chocolate and waffles. Check in to the NH Collection Brussels City Centre for a wonderful five-night stay and enjoy a delightful dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8 – Brussels to Bruges to Brussels 

Today is dedicated to Bruges, a fairytale medieval town. Enjoy a guided walking tour of its cobblestone streets and canals before visiting Choco-Story for a hands-on chocolate workshop. We will continue our visit with a stop at the Kantcentrum Museum to learn about Bruges’ lace-making tradition. Return to Brussels for dinner at our hotel.

Day 9 – Brussels to Ghent to Brussels 

Explore Ghent, another jewel of Belgium. Begin with coffee and cake aboard a scenic boat tour along its picturesque canals. Next, we’ll visit the mysterious Castle of the Counts, dating back to 1180. This grand medieval castle was residence of the Court of Flanders until 1353, and later re-purposed as a court, prison, mint, and even a cotton factory. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Design Museum Gent comprising of an 18th century mansion and modern wing and featuring an international design collection. With its blend of medieval charm and modern innovation, Ghent offers something for everyone. End the day back in Brussels with dinner at our hotel.

Day 10 – Brussels 

Today, our group will visit the Bastogne War Museum and War Rooms for an in-depth exploration of World War II history. This includes the Bois Jacques Battlefield with its famous foxholes and the Memorial du Mardasson, also known as The Battle of the Bulge Monument. A two-course lunch is included as part of this moving experience. With a full-day guide to enhance our visit, the stories of the past will come alive. Return to Brussels for a final evening of reflection and camaraderie.

Day 11 – Brussels to Lennik to Brussels 

Today we journey to the captivating Gaasbeek Castle for a guided exploration of its rich history and stunning architecture. The tour will be led by knowledgeable guides, with groups divided for a more intimate and engaging experience. After the morning’s discoveries, enjoy a leisurely afternoon to relax or explore at your own pace. The day concludes with a delightful three-course dinner at a local restaurant, featuring a thoughtfully prepared menu, and a drink of your choice. It’s the perfect way to unwind and reflect on the day’s highlights.

Day 12 – Brussels to United States 

As our tour comes to an end, enjoy breakfast at our hotel before we depart for the airport. We bid our Authentic Holland & Belgium experience goodbye with wonderful memories of this extraordinary journey.
