Baseball Heaven
Day 01 – Home to Iowa City
Our journey to Baseball Heaven begins as we travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That’s right…Minor League baseball at it’s best! See America’s pastime up close and personal in the intimate confines of Veterans Memorial Stadium. Witness future big league ball players as the Cedar Rapids Kernels host the Swing of the Quad Cities, both teams of the Class A Midwest League.
Game: Kernels vs. Swing

Day 02 – Iowa City to St. Louis
Bright and early we’ll board our coach to journey south to St. Louis, “Baseball City USA.” St. Louis claims “baseball’s best fans” and you will be in agreement soon after you arrive. The marqee flashes “Welcome to Baseball Heaven” as we enjoy a tour of fabulous Busch Stadium, home of the World Champion Cardinals! Our hotel, Hilton at the Ballpark, is right across the street from the stadium and 3 blocks from the Arch. Our rooms feature a view of downtown St. Louis and the entire hotel is adorned in baseball memorabilia.

Day 03 – St. Louis
We’ll have the entire day to enjoy the sights and attractions of this great city. We have arranged lunch at Mike Shannon’s Restaurant. Mike Shannon is a former Cardinals player and current broadcaster. The entire restaurant has a “Hall of Fame” atmosphere as well as fabulous food.

Day 04 – St. Louis to Kansas City
After breakfast we’ll travel across the rolling hills of Missouri to Kansas City, arriving in time to enjoy baseball’s most beautiful ballpark, Kaufmann Stadium, with its amazing waterfall backdrop. An afternoon game features the Royals hosting the National League Philadelphia Phillies. Afterwards we’ll dine at one of Kansas City’s best Bar BQ restaurants.

Day 05 – Kansas City to Des Moines
We’ll visit the fascinating Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City before heading north. Once again we experience baseball at a more intimate level at Principal Park in Des Moines, home of the Iowa Cubs. The Cubs (a Chicago Cubs farm team) battle the Omaha Royals (a Kansas City Royals affiliate) in a AAA Pacific Coast League game. We’ll see top major league prospects one step away from the big leagues, as well as some veterans trying to make it back to the big time. This is baseball the way it should be.

Day 06 – Des Moines to Home
We’ll journey back home, a short ½-day trip, arriving early enough to share our Baseball Heaven experiences with friends and family.
