Baseball Lovers Dream Trip – Alpha to Omega

1. Home to Boston
Depart late morning from the Twin Cities with great anticipation of our 5 day baseball fantasy trip. Arriving in Boston, and go directly to our first destination, Fenway Park. Home of the Boston Red Sox since 1912, Fenway Park is the oldest ballpark in the major leagues, and one of the most historic. Not much has changed since 1947 when they added lights and advertising was removed from the 37 foot Green Monster Wall that dominates left field, one of the more famous landmarks in baseball. Fenway Park has been home to some of the greats such as Cy Young, Jimmie Foxx, Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Carl Yastremski, Roger Clemens, Pedro Martinex and Norman Garciaparra. This evenings game features the Boston Red Sox vs. the Baltimore Orioles. Shall we say, ?Let?s play baseball!?

Take time to freshen up at our beautiful hotel before departing for Yankee Stadium with enough pregame time to soak in this historic atmosphere. Take time to look around as this has been home to the New York Yankees since 1923. The 3rd oldest stadium and probably the most famous and storied of all. Yankee Stadium has been the site of 37 World Series, 26 won by the Yankees. A memorial, Monument Park, resides behind the wall in left field and honors Yankee greats Miller Huggins, Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle. Watch and enjoy this evening as the New York Yankees take on the Toronto Blue Jays!

Opening on April 12, 2004, Citizen?s Bank Park is one of 2 new ballparks this season ( San Diego?s Petco Park is the other). Heralded as a world class state of the art baseball venue, the park is spectacular yet intimate, boasting breathtaking views, dazzling amenities and a staggering array of special features. This stadium has a capacity of 43,500 and is designed to place fans closer to the field and on top of the action. It is truly the new landmark in Philadelphia! 5. Philadelphia to Home
We’re in no hurry. Its a short trip to Baltimore where we?ll arrive at Camden Yards to fully enjoy this unique, one-of-a-kind baseball experience. Opened in 1992, Camden Yards was the first throwback stadium and it quickly earned the distinction as the blueprint for a new retro ballparks building craze. Many have tried to match the charm and intimacy of Camden but few have captured it?s overall magic. A historic landmark is the BTO Warehouse that rises behind the left field bleachers. You can visit the Babe Ruth Museum just 2 blocks away or just get lost in the sites and sounds of batting practice in a baseball atmosphere that literally floats you away! Today we?ll cheer on our very own Minnesota Twins as they play the Baltimore Orioles! A perfect way to end a grand baseball trip! Following the game, we?ll enjoy a farewell dinner celebration before catching our flight for home. Reflecting on how quickly a baseball fantasy unfolded and all we?ll have to share when we get back!
