Day 1 – Home to Myrtle Beach, SC
Fly with us into beautiful Charleston, SC, and travel north along the scenic coastline to begin our beachside getaway. Tonight we dine together at Bovines in Murrells Inlet, known for its coastal charm and wood-fired flavors. Then we continue to our oceanfront hotel in Myrtle Beach. Take in the ocean breeze and relax—our SpringHill Suites accommodations offer beach access and stunning views from the balcony of our oceanview rooms!

Day 2 – Myrtle Beach
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before we head to one of the East Coast’s most treasured landmarks – Brookgreen Gardens. This immersive day includes a guided Garden Tour. As we stroll the gardens, our guide will describe the history of Brookgreen Gardens, the sculpture of Anna Hyatt Huntington and other sculptors, and South Carolina Lowcountry’s plant life. We’re also treated a peaceful Creek Excursion, only accessible by pontoon boat. This exclusive experience includes an interpreter who shares about the unique and unspoiled tidal creeks, surrounding land, and the significant history of the colonial rice plantations that once made up Brookgreen Gardens. Have your cameras ready as we cruise pass historic rice fields, because they are now home to alligators, waterfowl, and osprey! A box lunch is included before free time to explore the shops and garden grounds on your own. We’ll return to the hotel to freshen up, take a stroll on the beach, or savor the view from our balconies. Tonight, dinner is served at the Original Benjamin’s Calabash Seafood, followed by an unforgettable performance at the Carolina Opry.

Day 3 – Myrtle Beach to Wilmington, NC
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing morning by the beach and lunch on your own before we travel to Wilmington, North Carolina, just in time for the North Carolina Azalea Festival! We’ll explore this port town during a horse-drawn trolley tour. Then we’ll check into our hotel in historic downtown Wilmington before enjoying an included dinner together. This evening we head to the iconic Thalian Hall, originally built between 1855-1858, it housed the town goverment, library, and “Opera House.” As we settle into our plush seats, we’ll take in the Classical Revival and flamboyant Late Victorian design elements around us. Then the curtain parts, it’s time to experience the magic of The Wizard of Oz as the story of Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, and others unfolds before us and is brought to life on this special stage!

Day 4 – Wilmington
It’s Festival day! After breakfast, bleacher seating awaits us for the Azalea Festival Parade, bursting with music, floats, and southern flair. Afterward, stroll the bustling street fair and browse local artisans and food vendors. Later, enjoy the Cape Fear Garden Club’s Garden Tours, a stunning look at private gardens in full bloom – known as one of the longest-running and most celebrated garden tours in the South. Tonight we gather for a delightful, waterfront dinner at Marina Grill.

Day 5 – Wilmington
We head to Carolina Beach today for a unique and flavorful experience—the Tasting History Tour. As we sample local specialties at several restaurants, we’ll learn the stories behind this charming beach town. This afternoon, we return to Wilmington for the Azalea Festival Home Tours, where we’ll step inside exquisite private residences beautifully decorated and open to guests during this rare opportunity. Tonight is yours to explore Wilmington’s waterfront and dine as you please.

Day 6 – Wilmington to Charleston, SC
Enjoy one last Wilmington breakfast before we visit the Bellamy Mansion Museum, a striking example of antebellum architecture and a compelling look into both urban slave life and upper-class living in the 1800s. Next, lunch is served at Cape Fear Seafood, then sit back as we journey south to Charleston. We’ll check into the Drury Plaza Hotel Charleston North, where we’ll enjoy their relaxing evening Kickback Reception.

Day 7 – Charleston to Home
Our final day features a visit to the magnificent Magnolia Plantation & Gardens. We’re treated to a guided tour of the plantation house, a nature tram ride that circumnavigates Magnolia’s wetlands, forests, marsh, and swamp, plus views of the historic slave cabins that provide a sobering look at the area’s past. Marvel at the beautiful gardens as spring is in full bloom. After an included lunch at the plantation, we’ll head to the airport for our return flight home, full of memories of beauty, blooms, and the beach!
