Depart for Manitou Springs and experience Pikes Peak which forms a stunning backdrop for Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods. Lunch will be included at the Garden of the God’s Trading Post. Then, visit Garden of the Gods featuring red rock formations and breathtaking views of Pikes Peak, it was marked on the National Register for Historic places in 1979. This evening an authentic chuckwagon supper and original western stage show awaits us at the Flying W Ranch, a secluded, working mountain cattle ranch!

Day 4 – Colorado Springs to Alamosa

Enjoy breakfast before we depart for Cañon City. Visit Royal Gorge Park, affording breathtaking views from the highest suspension bridge in the world, rising 1,053 feet above the rapids of the Arkansas River. Ride the Aerial Tram across the gorge and then walk back across the 1929 suspension bridge. Board the Royal Gorge Railroad for a 24- mile journey beneath Royal Gorge Bridge. This ride will afford some of the most spectacular scenery your eyes will ever see! Lunch will be served aboard the train while we keep our eyes open to glimpse wildlife in their natural habitat. After a fabulous day in the Royal Gorge area, we drive to Alamosa, Colorado for our overnight stay.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Hotel: Holiday Inn Express

Day 5 – Alamosa to Durango

Motor to Antonito and board the famous Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. This train runs between Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico. The track was originally laid in 1880 by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. The railroad yard still has the feel of 1960 and earlier. We will disembark from the train in Cumbres and drive to Durango, an old romantic mining town. Dinner and the evening is on your own to explore Durango.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Hotel: Historic Strater Hotel

Day 6 – Durango to Palisade

Board The Silverton, the last scheduled narrow gauge railroad in the United States. This 1881 coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive was built to haul silver and gold ore, and today it will carry you along the breathtaking canyons of the La Plata and San Juan Mountains. See breathtaking scenery as we wind around mountain peaks, canyon walls, and rushing streams enroute to Silverton, once a bustling mining town in the 1870s. Nestled in the San Juan Mountains, Silverton is a national historic landmark. Take time to explore Silverton’s historic architecture built between 1882 and 1910 during Silverton’s boom time. Motor on the million-dollar highway over Red Mountain Pass of the San Juan Mountains to Palisade. Spend two nights at the exceptional Wine Country Inn where you can stroll through the working vineyards that surround the inn, an 80-room Victorian style hotel, which sits in the middle of 21 acres of vines!

Included Meals: Breakfast

Hotel: Wine Country Inn (2 Nights)

Day 7 – Palisade

Lunch will be on your own at historic downtown Georgetown. We’ll then enjoy a tour of Molly Brown’s house. Have you heard of her fame as a survivor of the Titanic? We’re about to learn so much more!
