Day 1 – Home to Halifax

We’ll board our flight to Halifax. Upon arrival, we will check into the Courtyard by Marriot for our three night stay. Tonight our Welcome Dinner will be at the Waterfront Warehouse Restaurant.

Day 2 – Halifax

This morning our guide will join us as we begin our sightseeing of the city of Halifax. From atop Citadel Hill, observe Halifax’s famous bustling harbor where ships have come and gone for many years. Halifax is the resting place for many Titanic victims, giving us a chance to pay our respects. We will continue our tour with views of beautiful homes as well as learning about much of Halifax’s amazing history. We will visit the Public Gardens, one of the finest surviving examples of Victorian Gardens in North America.

Day 3 – Halifax

This morning our guide will join for the day as we travel the Lighthouse Route and on to the lovely seaport village of Lunenburg, the famous shipbuilding and fishing center of Canada. We’ll spot countless islands and coves before arriving in Lunenburg and savor a tasty lunch at the Fish Factory Restaurant. We’ll take a look at the famous Fishermans Museum. We’ll stop for an awe-inspiring stroll along the water’s edge. Our afternoon will take us out to famous Peggy’s Cove, a quaint little fishing village which stands on a solid rock that offers sweeping coastal views. Returning to Halifax, we’ll enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 4 – Halifax to Baddeck

We’ll travel the “Road to the Isles” over the Canso Strait to Cape Breton Island. See Bras d’Or Lake, a beautiful inland sea. Later we will visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Park which houses Bell’s most remarkable collection of early inventions. Our resort is set along the hillside with views of the shores of Bras d’Or Lake, located in the heart of Baddeck, a scenic village reflecting the atmosphere of old Scotland. Take some time to stroll through the peaceful fishing village and private coves of Baddeck. Dinner will be at the lodge.

Day 5 – Baddeck

Brace yourself for some of the most breathtaking scenery as we take one of the world’s most scenic drives: the Cabot Trail winds through Cape Breton Highlands National Park, past majestic rock bluffs, through deep stream-lined valleys, and over the summits of lofty peaks. We’ll stop along the way at Flora’s gift shop with hand-crafted goods made by the local Acadian French artists in their native traditions. Lunch will be on your own at Pleasant Bay along the beautiful Cabot Trail before we continue exploring Cape Breton Island in its spectacular summer splendor with many photo stops along the way. Dinner will be served at the lodge tonight.

Day 6 – Baddeck to Prince Edward Island

We’ll ferry to the birthplace of Canada, Prince Edward Island, where unspoiled beauty abounds on this peaceful isle – a favorite summer resort destination. A sunny day on Prince Edward Island is like nowhere else on earth!In Charlottetown we’ll admire lovely Victorian homes and gardens. Enjoy a visit to the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company & hear how it all began. You’ll be evening guests at the Rainbow Valley frolic house party featuring great food and local talent.

Day 7 – Prince Edward Island

Our tour of this lovely island will display the magnificent beaches of Prince Edward Island National Park and the rich farmlands of red soil and rolling hillsides with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. Discover Green Gables, the literary home of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables.” Prince Edward Island is famous for its lobster, so what better place to enjoy a maritime lobster dinner this evening!

Day 8 – PEI to Wolfville

Departing the island, we’ll cross the Northumberland Strait on the Confederation Bridge which spans the island and New Brunswick. Take some time to browse in the local shops and visitor center of the Gateway Village just below the Confederation Bridge. We will cross over the Northumberland Strait to New Brunswick and follow along the Glooscap Strait. With a stop in Truro for lunch, where people experience the excitement and adventure of Tidal Bore Rafting on Nova Scotia’s largest river, the Shubenacadie River, that feeds into the Atlantic Ocean. From Truro we will arrive in Wolfville for a visit to one of Nova Scotia’s wineries and then arrive at The Old Orchard Inn for our relaxing two night stay. A delicious dinner is served tonight at the Inn.

Day 9 – Wolfville

A local guide will join us today. We’ll pass through Halls Harbor, famous for its phenomenal harbor where you can see a dramatic change in the water level. Charming coastal villages reflecting Acadian French history grace the farmland and dot the shoreline. Lunch will be at the wonderful Blomidan Inn. Following our delicious meal, you can enjoy a walk in the beautiful garden at Blomidan. This afternoon we will visit the Grand Pre Historic Park, a historic site depicting the story of the expulsion of the Acadians, immortalized in Longfellow’s tragic romance “Evangeline.” This evening our Farewell Dinner is at The Old Orchard Inn, we’ll share memories of our amazing trip through Nova Scotia.

Day 10 – Wolfville to Home

Enjoy our breakfast this morning before we make our way to the Halifax airport for our trip home.
