Day 1 – Home to Lansing, IL
Today is a day of getting to know our fellow passengers as we travel to our first overnight stay near Chicago. We’ll enjoy beautiful fall color as we drive through Wisconsin.

Day 2 – Lansing to Erie, PA
Travel through Indiana & Ohio’s lovely countryside with breaks along the way. Lodging this evening will be in Erie.

Day 3 – Erie to Niagara Falls, ON
We make our way to Niagara Falls Ontario, a thundering natural wonder that draws millions of visitors each year from around the world. Drive scenic Niagara Parkway where you will see lovely
scenery including the Floral Clock. Dine this evening atop the Skylon Tower as we enjoy a breathtaking view of Niagara Falls!

Day 4 – Niagara Falls to New York City
Pass through the beautiful landscapes of New York State then we check into our hotel just blocks from Times Square. After a leisurely dinner on your own, we will all meet to go to “The Top of the Rock” for a spectacular night view of the city.

Day 5 – New York City
Take a colorful ferry boat ride to the famous Statue of Liberty, symbolizing American freedom to all. Visit Ellis Island and discover, by exhibits, the 12 million people who came here looking for a better life. View the film “Island of Hope, Island of Tears” before visiting the Great Hall. Tour the 9/11 Memorial Museum – a display that will truly never be forgotten. Our local step-on guide will show us the sights and sounds of the “Big Apple”, New York City! Visit lower Manhattan. See Wall Street, Chinatown, Greenwich village and more of this exciting city that never sleeps. Dinner is on your own before we’re off to one of Broadway’s top shows!
Day 6 – NYC
We’ll spend most of the day with our wonderful NYC tour guide. Then the remainder of the afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy the hustle & bustle of NYC life.
Day 7 – NYC to Washington D.C.
Depart for Philadelphia, the home of the First and Second Continental Congresses and the first Capital of the U.S. See Independence Hall, the site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the home of the Liberty Bell. Arrive in Washington D.C. for a three night stay near our nation’s capital!

Day 8 – Washington D.C.
Our excellent step on guide will be with us as we tour the Vietnam, Korean, The World War II Memorial and Iwo Jima Memorial. Learn about the Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, new Martin Luther King Memorial, and the restored Union Station. Our guide indulges us with facts and information as we view from our coach Embassy Row, Kennedy Center, The Old Post Office, The Pentagon, and the National Cathedral.

Day 9 – Washington D.C.
After breakfast, explore Arlington National Cemetery, and witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Nearby, the Eternal Flame marks the gravesites of President John F. Kennedy, Jackie, Robert, and Ted Kennedy. Lunch is on your own before visiting the Smithsonian Institute at your leisure. Known as the “Nation’s Attic,” we will see our country’s treasures, from its priceless jewels to Archie Bunker’s chair! Tonight we’ll enjoy dinner at a local Arlington, VA restaurant.

Day 10 – Washington D.C. to Gettysburg
Travel to Gettysburg, where we will tour the battlefield, experience the electric map presentation, and walk through the cemetery. We will stand where Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address. Tonight we have an included dinner at the famous Historic Dobbin House. Enjoy leisure time with lots to see and do.

Day 11 – Gettysburg to Youngstown
We bid goodbye and begin our journey home. Enjoy the passing landscapes with the company of good friends before checking into our hotel for the evening.

Day 12 – Youngstown to Chicago Area
After breakfast we’re off to Chicago with lunch and coffee breaks along the way. This evening, relax and enjoy the hotel before our farewell dinner.
