Day 2 – Delavan to Lake Geneva, WI

Following a hearty and healthy breakfast, we’ll travel to Safari Lake Geneva, a unique wildlife preserve that is home to animals from around the world. It is not a zoo nor a theme park, but instead a refuge for the world’s diminishing breeds, allowing them to roam the vast acreage and interact with other animals, oftentimes in herds, much as they would in their ancestral homelands. Next we’ll unplug and experience firsthand the daily life of Wisconsin’s early immigrants through a unique open-air museum. For centuries, people left old worlds for a new life in Wisconsin. They faced unfamiliar landscapes and languages, learned to establish farms and communities, and blended the old with the new. Welcome to the world they created. Welcome to Old World Wisconsin! Experience firsthand the stories of creating a home and surviving in a new place. Shop in the general store, take in a lesson at the Raspberry School, hear the hammer in the blacksmith shop, see the church pews, and tour homes from Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, Irish and Yankee immigrants. Afterwards we’ll have an included lunch before checking into the Harbor Shores on Lake Geneva. Our hotel is located just steps away from beautiful Geneva Lake and we’ll thoroughly enjoy our lakeview rooms! Tonight we’re guests at The Dancing Horses Theatre for a tasty dinner and a dazzling spectacle featuring an array of horse breeds who perform alongside their trainers in a fantastic cavalcade of equestrian artistry. Created from one person’s vision and their infinite love for horses, the show is meant to evoke memories that many of us have from childhood.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Lake Geneva

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in our lovely setting before we board The Walworth for a scenic and unique US Mailboat cruise! For over 100 years, mail has been delivered around the lake by boat. This 2 1/2 hour cruise will take us around the entire lake as we watch the mail person leap off the front of the boat onto residents’ docks, deliver and collect the mail, before jumping back aboard the back of the moving Walworth! Truly exciting and unique! After disembarking, we will walk across the street to Popeye’s on Lake Geneva, known for its flame-roasted rotisserie meats. A few hours are free this afternoon to explore downtown Lake Geneva, walk along the shoreline, or relax at the hotel. A special evening is planned as we walk next door to the historic Baker House, a Queen Anne Mansion built in 1885. As we tour this 17,000 sq. ft. residence, we’ll learn about the exterior shingles being completely made from the great Californian Redwoods, we’ll walk on the inlaid wood floors made from five different species of wood, and gaze at the thirteen ornate fireplaces surrounded by floor to ceiling hand carved mantels embellished with pristine (and rare!) J & JG Low Art Tile of Chelsea, MA! We’ll experience fine dining in the Baker House parlor where decadence takes center stage. Designed with exotic flair and vintage glamour, we will be completely swept away to a world of Gilded Age living! Our night isn’t over yet as we head to The Tristan Crist Magic Theatre to experience this grand illusionist perform magic up-close and personal! How can a real helicopter appear only a few feet away?!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 – Lake Geneva to Home

One more breakfast is served before we bid beautiful Lake Geneva farewell and begin our journey home. Along the way, we’ll visit House on the Rock, an awesome retreat built atop a chimney of rock. On our self-guided tour, we’ll explore some of the most unique collections including the world’s largest carousel, a 200’ sea creature, automated music machines and much more. Arrive home having made new travel friends and fondly remembering Lake Geneva’s Gems!
