Day 1 – Home to Sheboygan, WI
Come along with R&J to Sheboygan, located on the spectacular shores of Lake Michigan, where we will check into the beautiful Blue Harbor Resort for three nights. We’ll happily settle into our lakeview rooms, each boasting a wonderful fireplace, making this the perfect destination for a warm & cozy winter getaway! As you take in the majestic lakeview from your rooms, be sure to keep an eye out for surfers catching the waves if the conditions are right! Surfing during the winter?? Absolutely! Sheboygan is known as the “Malibu of the Midwest” and the “Freshwater Surf Capital,” with a peak surfing season between September and April! A welcome dinner overlooking Lake Michigan is served tonight at the Blue Harbor, complete with a visit from a local surfer who will share with us about winter surfing.

Day 2 – Sheboygan
After breakfast at the resort, our day begins with a photo stop at the World’s Tallest Symbol of Freedom: Acuity is a 400 ft flagpole! Then we’ll enjoy a self-guided tour of The Kohler Design Center. This amazing 3-level showcase features how Kohler started, their family tree and more on the lower level. The top two floors display their innovative, state-of-the art products; prepare to be wowed! Anyone heard of “Meals on Wheels?” Next we are treated to a tour of Fresh Meals on Wheels, a state-of-the-art facility that is one of the world’s most revered. People come from all over to view how it operates. As we tour this site, we’ll learn how the food is provided and the specific bar code system they use for each individual. With the proximity of Kohler and Vollrath, we’ll see how truly incredible this facility is! While here, we’ll get to experience their home-cooked buffet for lunch! We’ll continue to immerse ourselves in the food industry as we head to the Relish Kitchen Store, a unique cook’s store in the heart of downtown, for a fun, educational, and helpful demonstration. We will have fun trying out their gadgets, maybe even testing our skills at chopping, and shopping their wonderful products. Relish is the only retailer authorized to sell Sheboygan-manufactured, Vollrath commercial-quality kitchen products, to the public. Then we’ll head back to the resort to refresh and enjoy our cozy rooms. An exclusive dinner is planned this evening at the Sheboygan Yacht Club!

Day 3 – Sheboygan/Manitowoc
Enjoy breakfast before we travel north to Manitowoc, which is located on Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Manitowoc River. West of Manitowoc we’ll find our first stop, the AriensCo Museum, housed in the company’s original manufacturing plant. We’ll experience an interesting, guided tour covering the history of Ariens snowblowers, lawnmowers, and more. Next stop is the highly rated Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center. We’ll dive into the wonders of agriculture by exploring interactive exhibits, experiencing the miracle of birth in the birthing barn, enjoying a tasty boxed lunch, and lastly seeing a local dairy farm firsthand! Afterwards we’ll return to Sheboygan to freshen up and enjoy our resort. Since Sheboygan is also the “Bratwurst Capital of the World,” it’s fitting that dinner is served at Al & Al’s Stein Haus, a German-themed restaurant serving up traditional fare. After dinner entertainment will be a polka player so be sure to wear your dancing shoes!

Day 4 – Sheboygan to Home
We’ll enjoy one last breakfast in our beautiful and cozy lakefront surroundings, before we depart for home. Before we get too far, Miesfelds is a “must stop.” This large retail store is home of the Sheboygan “Champion Bratwurst,” featuring hand-made sausages, meats, cheese, and other Wisconsin products. They will not only share the history of their story with us, but samples too! And since it’s winter, we’ll take advantage of the cold storage underneath the coach to stow our scrumptious purchases! As we make our way home, we’ll reminisce about our cozy winter lakefront getaway to Sheboygan, the Malibu of the Midwest!
