We’ll enjoy some of the best Amish/Mennonite cooking around; we’ll attend a memorable concert filled with Christmas music; we’ll shop at the Riegsecker Marketplace for locally crafted items; we’ll tour around town in an Amish buggy; and we’ll explore the interesting Menno-Hof Museum to learn all about the faith & life of Amish and Mennonites!
Day 1 – Home to Davenport, IA
All aboard for a wonderful Christmas tour! Enjoy getting to know your traveling companions as we travel today, with an included lunch along the way until our final arrival in Davenport this evening. We’ll freshen up after checking into our AAA Four-Diamond Marriott Autograph Collection boutique hotel, located in the heart of historic downtown Davenport. Then we head over to the Circa 21 Playhouse for a wonderful dinner and to experience “Winter Wonderland.” In this heartwarming musical, a dad’s wish to celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas leads him & his family on a magical journey to another time, where they learn that remembering the past is important and is the best way to hold onto traditions. Enjoy the magic of an old-fashioned Christmas!

Day 2 – Davenport to Shipshewana, IN
We travel to Shipshewana today. We’ll enjoy a stop for lunch on our own along the way, then we’ll be ready to take in all that Shipshewana has to offer. This is Amish country – a perfect fit for our Christmas journey! There will be time for a great Amish buggy ride and browsing the many intriguing shops of Shipshewana this afternoon. This evening we enjoy an Amish buffet dinner before we attend a concert treat of “Daniel O’Donnell” at the event center. A fan favorite, this Irish singer is a delight to listen to, especially during the Christmas season when he sings the beautiful melodies of yuletide carols! It will be a wonderful first night in Shipshewana!

Day 3 – Shipshewana
This morning after another wonderful breakfast, we will visit the Menno-Hof Museum, where we’ll learn about the faith and life of Hutterites, Amish, and Mennonites! Menno-Hof’s multi-image presentations, historical environments, and colorful displays take us on a fascinating journey inside the unique world of the Hutterites, Amish, and Mennonites. Then we’ll have some free time before we see the delightful musical, “The Christmas Tree Ship” at the Shipshewana Theatre located within the Blue Gate Restaurant. It’s all about a ship, a storm, and a Christmas story of heroic proportions. The musical is inspired by a true story of one woman’s unsinkable determination to continue her husband’s mission of bringing Christmas trees to their Chicago community. Tonight we will dine together on another wonderful Blue Gate family-style meal before listening to Celtic Angels, who at Christmastime capitvates audiences of all ages with the magic of Christmas in an awe-inspiring show. The Celtic Angels are some of the sweetest voices under heaven! We’ll also take in the dazzling “Lights of Joy” either before or after our wonderful show tonight.

Day 4 – Shipshewana to Elkhart Lake, WI
Following a delicious breakfast at our hotel, we begin our journey to Wisconsin with a few stops along the way, including a lunch & shopping stop in delightful Cedarburg, WI. Cedarburg has a long history of lovingly preserved limestone buildings, a meandering creek, and more than 200 historical buildings. Many of the buildings are now small shops and boutiques so you might pick up a few Christmas gifts while you admire the town’s historical buildings and grab a quick bite of lunch before we continue on towards the beautiful and delightful Osthoff Resort. Here we are welcome to enjoy the authentic European-Style Christmas Market, horse drawn carriages, hayrides, first-rate dining, splendid accommodations and unparalleled German hospitality – Just enjoy!!

Day 5 – Elkhart Lake to Home
After breakfast at the Osthoff, we take a short drive to Plymouth for a wreath-making demonstration and maybe a little shopping, if you’d like, at the Wreath Factory. We’ll then journey home with many Moments of Christmas to remember for a long time!
