Day 1 – Home to Fond Du Lac

We will make our way to Wisconsin with a lunch stop in Wausau before our first stop at Ledgerock Distillery. During our tour, we will explore the “Best of Wisconsin’s Craft Beer/Wine Culture Distillery” and experience their fine collection with some tastings. Next we will visit Faris Gourmet Popcorn. You may wish to purchase one (or two!) of their many flavors of delicious, high qaulity popcorn. Then we tour La Clare Creamery, where everything is about pursuing perfection in flavor and quality to produce distinctly delicious goat cheese. Whether it’s the creamy canvas of their chevre infused with unique flavors or their robust hard cheeses, we’ll be licking our lips! We will also get to be their guests for a tasty farm-to-table dinner.

Day 2 – Fond Du Lac to Ft. Atkinson

After breakfast we will learn all about Fond Du Lac during a city tour. Fives Group manufacturing will be a very interesting visit. The historical origins of Fives dates back to 1812 and coincide with major industrial and economic world events. Fives is responsible for some of the most impressive achievements of the industrial age, from the first steam locomotives to the Alexandre III Bridge in Paris, the metal framework of the Orsay train station in Paris and the elevators for the Eiffel Tower. Lunch will be at the Cellar District, founded in 2021, right here in Fond Du Lac. The Cellar District is known for revolutionizing the way people experience dining out. They take pride in their ability to discover some unique ways to combine local, fresh ingredients and the dining experience as a whole. After lunch history comes alive at the Wisconsin Automotive Museum. Showcasing transportation history, the museum is Wisconsin’s largest auto museum, featuring an ever-changing display of classic and vintage autos and artifacts like gas pumps, plus the largest assembled group of Hartford-built Kissel luxury automobiles. The museum’s art deco interior sets off 115+ vehicles on exhibit including Pontiacs, Studebakers, Chevrolets, Kaisers, Fords, and other cars from around the world. An assortment of outboard engines built in Hartford from 1930s – 1990s are also on display. Then we will travel to Ft. Atkinson for a wonderful dinner & show at the Fireside Dinner Theatre. Here we will enjoy the production of THE MUSIC MAN. Strike up the band for Broadway’s brassiest musical comedy. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, THE MUSIC MAN has delighted audiences all over the world over with its rollicking tale of the fast-talking, charming con man, the prim but passionate librarian, the bumbling mayor, and all the colorful characters that make this show a classic. Add such wonderful songs as “Goodnight My Someone,” “The Wells Fargo Wagon,” and “76 Trombones” – a guaranteed gilt-edged great time for all!

Day 3 – Ft. Atkinson to Peoria, IL

After breakfast we will be depart the hotel and make our way to Peoria, IL for a visit. We will enjoy the ‘Roots of the River City Tour.’ The Native Americans, the French, the whiskey, the earthmoving capital of the world, and the grand mansions – this city tour has it all. We will view the stately homes along High Street, Moss Avenue, Glen Oak, and Grandview Drive. We’ll also enjoy the beautiful view of the Illinois River during this tour. Lunch is served at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse. Next, we are off to the Caterpillar Visitor Center – this isn’t your average museum! Our visit begins with a virtual ride in the bed of a massive two-and-a-half story Cat 797F Mining Truck. Learn how Caterpillar’s story began as two companies came together to build Caterpillar on the foundation of innovation and customer focus. We’ll unleash our inner engineer as we design our very own Cat machine. We’ll test our skills on a simulator to

see first-hand what it’s like to operate equipment the way their operators do, and no visit is complete without climbing in a track-type tractor. Then we will check into the Holiday Inn Express before we’re guests at the Barn III Theatre for a wonderful dinner and the show “Pump Boys and Dinettes.” A smash hit on and off-Broadway, this crowd-pleasing, country-western musical features Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, from the Double Cup diner, singing and performing along with the talented boys from the gas station next door – the “Pump Boys.” With heartbreak and hilarity, they perform on guitars, piano, bass and, yes, kitchen utensils!
