Day 1 – Home to Fond du Lac, WI

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive through Wisconsin’s rolling countryside as we make our way to Fond du Lac, a friendly lakeside community nestled at the foot of Lake Winnebago. After checking into our hotel, we’ll visit LaClare Creamery, a family-owned farm known for its award-winning goat cheeses. Enjoy a delightful farm tour and a scrumptious farm-to-table dinner showcasing the freshest local flavors – the perfect way to kick off our journey together!

Day 2 – Fond du Lac to Ludington, MI

After breakfast, we’ll journey a short way to the charming port city of Manitowoc, home to the fascinating Wisconsin Maritime Museum. Dive into Great Lakes history as we explore exhibits celebrating shipbuilding, submarines, and life along the water’s edge. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at the museum, with beautiful views of Lake Michigan just outside the window. Then, it’s time to set sail! We’ll board the historic S.S. Badger, a grand passenger and car ferry that’s been crossing the lake since 1953. Enjoy this true nautical adventure with the fresh lake breezes and scenic horizons as we glide across to Ludington, MI!

Day 3 – Ludington to Frankenmuth, MI

Today we travel east to Frankenmuth, a delightful Bavarian-style village filled with old-world charm and German hospitality. We’ll climb aboard the Golden Ticket Trolley for a cheerful narrated ride through town, discovering its quaint shops and rich history. Next, enjoy lunch on your own at Frankenmuth River Place Shops, where you’ll find plenty of tempting options ranging from hearty German fare to sweet bakery treats. In the afternoon, we’ll step aboard the Bavarian Belle Riverboat, an authentic stern driven paddlewheel riverboat, for a scenic cruise along the Cass River, soaking in the sights and stories of this picturesque region. Fun fact: The Bavarian Belle was brought from Arkansas to Michigan in 1999 and then carefully restored! This evening, Michigan’s largest wooden covered bridge, the 239 foot long Holz Brücke, will take us across the Cass River to the charming Bavarian Inn. We’ll marvel at the bridge’s craftsmanship, which was pulled into place over a span of 12 days at a rate of only three inches per minute by a team of oxen in 1980! After checking into the Inn, we’ll gather for a delicious dinner. It will truly be a warm and festive end to our Bavarian day!

Day 4 – Frankenmuth to Niagara Falls, ON

Today enjoy the beautiful views as we travel along and cross the border into Canada via the scenic Blue Water Bridge. After an included lunch, another nautical adventure awaits with a Niagara boat cruise that takes us up-close to the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls. Our boat cruises to the base of the thundering falls, which is truly a unique way to enjoy one of the Seven Wonders of the World and will be an experience we’ll never forget! Afterwards, we’ll check into the stunning Sheraton on the Falls Hotel, where you can find your own dinner and enjoy the spectacular fireworks display right from your fallsview room. What a magical way to end the day!

Day 5 – Niagara Falls

Breakfast is served at the hotel this morning before we travel north along the Niagara Parkway to Niagara-on-the-Lake, often called the loveliest town in Ontario. We will make photo stops at Table Rock & Floral Clock. Soar above Niagara Whirlpool as we ride the Whirlpool Aero Car, a cable car. Lunch & leisure time in this charming town will allow you to stroll back through history. You may enjoy the many speciality shops or choose to take a carriage ride through the Old Town. We have included wine tasting & a tour in this ideal wine producing region. You will thoroughly enjoy your journey back in time as you experience Niagara-on-the-Lake! Then join us in the evening for a spectacular falls-view dinner high atop the Skylon Tower revolving 775 feet above the Falls.

Day 6 – Niagara Falls to Shipshewana, IN

Leaving beautiful Niagara Falls, we journey back into the States and head to Shipshewana, IN where we’ll settle in for two nights at the charming Blue Gate Garden Inn. This evening, enjoy a mouth-watering buffet dinner followed by the heartwarming “Love Comes Softly Musical.” The beloved, best-selling book by Janette Oke has been given new life in this brand new musical that will sweep us away with its big west sounds, toe-tapping rhythms, and soaring ballads. When newlywed Marty Claridge sets out on a wagon train with her beloved Clem, seeking “The Promise of Home” in the western frontier, she is faced with sudden tragedy and a heart wrenching decision that will determine her very survival in a rugged wilderness. As she struggles with loss and grief, she finds herself surrounded by a community of neighbors who teach her lessons of generosity, kindness, and faith in God. Neighbors turn to family, bringing laughter and hilarity while a marriage of necessity takes a surprising turn. Through it all, Marty finds “The Promise of Home” in unexpected ways as she comes to her own faith and learns that sometimes, Love Comes Softly.

Day 7 – Shipshewana

Today begins with an incredible breakfast at the hotel. Then a fascinating Amish tour of a working farm offers us a glimpse into the simpler way of life and the traditions that have lasted for generations. Next, homemade goodness will melt in our mouths as we’re guests for lunch at an Amish home! A unique and special dining experience for sure! This afternoon we’ll have some free time in downtown Shipshewana for shopping, buggy rides, or checking out the fully restored antique carousel inside the Davis Mercantile building. This evening, we’ll gather for a wonderful family-style dinner at the Blue Gate. Next we’re treated to an extraordinary and unique celebration of “America’s 250th Birthday” through a panorama of story and song! We’ll join the amazing Celebration singers & actors for an unforgettable evening to experience the majestic and beloved songs and stories of America— from stirring anthems to timeless classics—each note and word lifting our spirit and awakening our pride. We’ll be entertained by the music we love, informed by fascinating and intriguing stories from America’s past, and inspired as the grandeur of our nation comes alive. This is more than a concert—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience to honor the dream and miracle that created and sustained the United States of America. Experience the Music – Relive the Story – Celebrate the Nation! We’ll cap off the night with a fun and sweet Ice Cream Social!

Day 8 – Shipshewana to Fort Atkinson, WI

Enjoy one last tasty Blue Gate breakfast before we journey to Fort Atkinson, recalling the memorable experiences we’ve shared along the way with our new travel friends. Tonight a fantastic dinner awaits at the Fireside Dinner Theatre, followed by a hit Broadway musical. (At time of print, musical not yet announced.)

Day 9 – Fort Atkinson to Home

After breakfast, as we travel home, we’ll reflect on the nautical adventures of our trip – from the S.S. Badger crossing Lake Michigan, to the Bavarian Belle Riverboat to cruising to Niagara Falls’ base! Don’t forget the charm of Frankenmuth and Shipshewana, plus the friendships made!
