Day 1 – Home to Amana Colonies, IA 

This morning we’ll board our motorcoach for a spring tulip time getaway! We’ll stop for lunch on our own along the way before we arrive to the Amana Colonies for a wonderful night stay. Once we’re checked into our hotel, you’ll have an opportunity to explore downtown Amana (Main Amana) and take in dinner on your own.

Day 2 – Amana Colonies to Newton, IA 

This morning after a wonderful Amana breakfast, we’ll tour the local area with an expert guide. We’ll make a few stops along the way to help bring the Amana story to life. The rich German heritage of the seven colonies are fascinating! Relax and sit back while we learn about the Amana heritage. We’ll enjoy an included lunch at the Ox Yoke Inn, a favorite restaurant in the colonies. This afternoon you’ll have ample time to explore the quaint shops and businesses of Amana. Later this afternoon we’ll leave Amana for the short drive to our home for the next two nights & enjoy dinner together.

Day 3 – Newton to Pella, IA 

This morning following breakfast at our hotel, we’ll attend the 88th Annual Tulip Festival in the charming town of Pella, filled with the sights, tastes, and sounds reminiscent of Holland. Enjoy the Molengracht (Dutch Marketplace) for shopping and the special festivities of Tulip Time. We’ll take a morning tour of Pella with a step-on guide before we have an opportunity to sample the many food vendors’ booths for lunch on your own. This afternoon we are spectators at the Grandstand Show and Volks Parade, featuring the street scrubbers, beautiful floats, the royal court, Dutch dancers and more! Following the parade, we’ll gather for an enjoyable and entertaining Dutch dinner, right here in Pella! Enjoy the day and all the floral beauty!

Day 4 – Pella to Home 

Enjoy a full breakfast at our hotel before we take the short ride back to Pella for a tour of the Scholte House Museum & Gardens, which was built in 1848 for Pella’s founder. There will be some time to again explore the Molengracht (Dutch Marketplace) and enjoy lunch on your own. Our time in Pella comes to an end in early afternoon and we’ll begin our journey north towards home, while we visit with our new friends and reminisce about the wonderful time we’ve had in the Amana Colonies and at the Pella Tulip Time Festival!
