Day 1 – Home to San Diego, CA

Today we begin our San Diego Seascape adventure by stepping on a flight to the west coast along the Pacific Ocean. Upon arrival, we will be greeted by an experienced step-on guide and motorcoach driver. The guide will orientate us to the lovely area as we travel the scenic drive, meandering our way through downtown, the beaches, and passing through the heart of picturesque Balboa Park & the historic Gaslamp District. Then we arrive at our beautiful hotel property, the Embassy Suites, near San Diego’s waterfront. The Embassy’s nicely furnished suites, great services, wonderful amenities, and location on the harbor make for a relaxing and enjoyable five night stay! Plus a complimentary nightly guest reception featuring cocktails, soft drinks, and light snacks are always available.

Day 2 – San Diego

After a full included breakfast buffet, we will enjoy an all-day narrated Old Town Trolley pass to get on/off (every 30 minutes) as we explore Coronado, Balboa Park, Little Italy, Old Town, and more at our full-day of leisure. We will find many options for an on our own lunch along the way; plus lots of opportunities for shopping and browsing. This will be a great day getting acquainted with the amazing area.

Day 3 – San Diego

This morning after breakfast, our group will meet to walk to the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier/Museum. Through the self-guided audio tour of the USS Midway, the story comes to life as we explore the carrier from top to bottom. Lunch is on our own on the Midway.  This afternoon a fascinating tour of the Maritime Museum is in store! The remainder of the day is free to enjoy at leisure.

Day 4 – San Diego

Another leisurely breakfast is enjoyed at the hotel before we depart by coach to Petco Park for a full behind-the-scenes tour of the San Diego Padres stadium, referred to as the crown jewel of downtown San Diego. Next, an included lunch at Anthony’s Fish Grotto will be a delightful experience. Our afternoon will be spent on the water with a narrated Hornblower Harbor Cruise, providing beautiful views of the full San Diego Bay & skyline!  Then we board a coach for dinner and the live theatre production of “Wizard of Oz” at the Lambs Players Theatre before returning to our hotel.

Day 5 – San Diego 

A visit to San Diego must include the famous Zoo! Today our coach will take us there with an included Day Pass/Express Bus ticket, allowing us to get in on all the Zoo highlights. The San Diego Zoo pioneered the concept of open-air, cageless exhibits that re-create natural animal habitats and it houses over 3,700 animals of more than 650 species and subspecies. We’ll return to our hotel about 3:30 pm to rest and freshen up for our Farewell Dinner at the well-known Bayview Harbor House in Seaport Village.

Day 6 – San Diego to Home

Enjoy our final lovely breakfast together, then it’s time to pack our bags and head to the airport for our flight home. Reminisce with your new traveling friends about our full, yet leisurely vacation to the Pacific Coast & San Diego – what wonderful memories!
