Day 2 – Tucson
Enjoy your first Arizona breakfast before we depart for the Arizona- Sonora Desert Museum, a world-renowned zoo, natural history museum, and botanical garden. You will also be able to enjoy lunch on your own right here at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Then we will take in the Tucson Botanical Gardens, which is a 5.5-acre collection of sixteen residentially scaled urban gardens. Paths connect these gardens, which include a Zen Garden, a Prehistoric Garden, a Barrio Garden, a Butterfly Garden, a Xeriscape Garden, and a Children’s Garden. Next, we are off to The Franklin Auto Museum. Founded by Thomas Hubbard, the museum is a means to continue his collection of classic Franklin automobiles, covering all years of the company’s production. This evening we will partake in the hotel’s Manager’s Reception.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Manager’s Reception
Day 3 – Tucson – FREE DAY
Today is a free day! Maybe you want to meet up with some friends or family that spend their winters here in Arizona. Or, perhaps you’ll choose to lounge in the warm sun with a good book or enjoy a swim in the refreshing pool.

Day 4 – Tucson
After breakfast, we will make our way to the world’s largest non-government funded aerospace museums. The Pima Air & Space Museum features a display of nearly 300 aircraft spread out over 80 acres. It has also been the home to the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame since 1991. We will also enjoy an included lunch right at the museum. We return to our hotel to freshen up and maybe even catch a quick nap before we depart for some good old cowboy fun at the Trail Dust Town! We will escape to a bygone era as a trip down main street feels like a journey through the streets of a pioneer town. First, we’ll have dinner at Pinnacle Peak, home of the Cowboy Steak. Then we’ll enjoy exploring the grounds. Perhaps you’ll wish to purchase tickets for the Ferris Wheel or the Allan Herschell Carousel, which was manufactured in 1954 and still contains its original horses and benches. We will gather back together at the outdoor theatre for the exciting Pistoleros Wild West Show! Trail Dust Town’s stunt show is a slapstick comedy homage to the wild west.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5 – Tucson
Breakfast is served at the hotel before we depart for historic Rillito Park. Originally opened in 1943 and called Rillito Race Track, the track is considered the birthplace of modern, formalized Quarter Horse racing. Other advancements, including the introduction of the photo finish and the straightaway “chute system,” a standard for Quarter Horse racing today, remain a part of Rillito’s legacy. We will tour the grounds before we head to the Clubhouse for a buffet lunch available for us to enjoy all afternoon. Then, let the horse races begin!! You may choose to place bets on your own. What a fun day we’ve had at Rillito Park! We’ll return to the hotel for dinner on your own and a free evening.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 6 – Tucson/Oracle, AZ
After another enjoyable breakfast we will travel to Oracle and visit Biosphere 2, an American Earth system science research facility. As the world’s largest earth science experiment, we will learn about earth, its living systems, and its place in the universe. We’ll dive into the ocean, take shelter in the rain forest, discover the desert, get lost among the mangroves, and uncover history in the Savannah! Then we will stop for lunch before getting to the Sabino Canyon. We will board the Sabino Canyon Crawler for an enhanced interpretive program that shares details about how Sabino Canyon was formed, what kind of plant and wildlife live in the canyon, seasonal changes that occur in the canyon, plus important historical and cultural information. Before we return to the hotel, we will visit the DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, a 10-acre National Historic District located in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. We will enjoy the beautiful art work they have to show us. The evening is free for you to enjoy on your own.
