Day 1 – Home to Omaha, NE

We depart today for a fun and educational Farm Tour to Omaha! We’ll make stops for lunch on your own and a coffee break along the way. Checking into the Holiday Inn & Suites for a 3 night stay, we’ll freshen up before a wonderful evening ahead. We’re guests for a special meal and entertainment at the German-American Society, where they’re passionate about preserving and sharing German heritage and traditions!

Included Meals: Dinner

Hotel: Holiday Inn Express & Suites (3 Nights)

Day 2 – Omaha

We enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast at the hotel before being transported to Scotland with a visit to the historic 1903 Joslyn Castle. This 30 room stone mansion resembles a traditional Scottish castle. As we enter through the huge front doors, we’ll be amazed by the craftsmanship of the elaborate wood interior, which comes from all parts of the world. Hear the fascinating story of George & Sarah Joslyn and how the couple shared their extraordinary wealth with the community. Next we jaunt over to St. Johns Greek Orthodox Church for an authentic homemade Greek meal and dance performance. Father Chris will give us a tour of this Byzantine Style church. We’ll be amazed by the décor of gold and traditional icons. The tour includes the meaning of the décor and the history of the Greek Orthodox Church. After the tour, we step downstairs where members of the congregation will join us for lunch and a Greek dance performance. A special afternoon and evening is in store as we make our way to the Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard. Since 1925, apples, cherries, and dozens of other fruits & vegetables have been produced here in the rolling hills of southeast Nebraska. Our tour will include a hayride through the orchard – hopefully the blackberries and peaches will even be ready for us to pick! We’ll enjoy a cider making demonstration and wine tasting too, followed by a wonderful dinner. Returning to our hotel, we’ll have a smile on our face as we look forward to another great day tomorrow!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Omaha

Wake up to another great hot breakfast and then we travel to West Omaha to the world-famous Father Flanagan’s Boys Town. Since it’s an actual working town, it definitely will be an inspirational stop! Visit the hall of history to learn the interesting history of this city of children. View a number of beautiful chapels and tour the restored 1920’s home of Father Flanagan. Lunch is planned at Boys Town. Next up is a visit to CLAAS Manufacturing for an interesting tour of this tractor and harvesting equipment manufacturing facility. We will then head over to the historic Old Market Entertainment District featuring cobblestone streets lined with unique boutiques, art galleries, antique emporiums, sweet shops, and more than 30 locally owned restaurants. Relish in the authentic “turn of the century” charm. Horse drawn carriages and street musicians add to the Old World appeal. We’ve included a tasty treat at Ted & Wally’s, known for their old school, ultra-premium ice cream that is made from scratch using all natural ingredients from local producers! If you are looking for a treat to enjoy on the journey home tomorrow, be sure to visit Hollywood Candy with it’s large collection of retro antiques and nostalgic candy. You’ll discover hundreds of memorabilia you grew up with including thousands of choices of candy! Another recommended shopping stop is at Tannenbaum, where Christmas is a year round business. Dinner tonight is at an old school, “old money” favorite, a premier steakhouse that has been in existence for decades. It has been in the Casio family since its beginning and is still owned & managed by Alphie Casio! This will be a dinner long remembered! We return to the hotel for a great night’s rest.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
