After checking into our hotel, we’re guests at the Fireside Dinner Theatre for a scrumptious buffet dinner and the production of the Christmas classic, “A Wonderful Life!” The story of George Bailey and his wonderful life in Bedford Falls has brought hope and inspiration to every heart with its celebration of the goodness in all of us.

Included Meals: Dinner

Hotel: Holiday Inn Express

Day 2 – Fort Atkinson to Bloomington, IL

After breakfast, we continue our journey into Illinois for a special Christmas stop at Williams Tree Farm! Established in 1946, we’ll enjoy a tour of this farm that loves all things Christmas! Our Christmas at the Farm experience also includes decorating our own Christmas wreaths to bring home as well as lunch at their Cabin Cafe! Afterwards we’ll visit the Historic Auto Attractions Museum. As their name implies, they have a huge collection of cars, but the autos are actually just a small piece of their collection. They’re home to a history museum featuring attractions for Abraham Lincoln, John F Kennedy, and World War II. They have one of the largest collection of presidential limousines as well as collectibles from the likes of Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and James Dean. For fans of things with big engines, the museum has Big Foot the Monster Truck, a stock car hall of fame, a Mario Andretti car, and a whole lot more. We’ll then check into the DoubleTree by Hilton for a two night stay before we dine at the Barrel House Restaurant this evening.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Hotel: DoubleTree by Hilton (2 Nights)

Day 3 – Bloomington

Breakfast at the hotel is included before we head to the Funk Prairie Home Museum. Be sure to have your walking shoes on as we’ll be treated to three guided tours at this historic property, settled by Isaac Funk in 1824. We’ll tour the 1864 prairie home that LaFayette, Isaac’s son, built for this wife. In the Gem & Mineral Museum we’ll find the vast and unique collections of LaFayette Funk II. Lastly, we’ll tour LaFayette’s timberframe horse barn that has been wonderfully restored and houses an impressive showroom of antique, horse-drawn farm equipment. An included lunch is then served at Cracker Barrel before we’ll tour the David Davis Mansion, also known as Clover Lawn. Maintaining a long-time friendship with Abraham Lincoln, Davis went from a circuit-riding lawyer to a U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice. Completed in 1872, Clover Lawn combines Italiante & Second Empire architectural features and is a model of mid-Victorian style & taste. This elegant home tells the story of the generation of men and women that created an orderly society out of a chaotic frontier world and then led the United States through the Civil War and early years of Reconstruction. There will then be time to return to our hotel to freshen up. Next, we make our way to the Barn III Dinner Theatre in Goodfield, Illinois, where a tasty dinner will be served before a special Holiday edition of Forever Plaid, “Plaid Tidings.” Francis, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky aren’t sure why they’ve returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they’re needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. Sprinkled among the Christmas offerings are favorites like their three minute and eleven second version of The Ed Sullivan Show – this time featuring the Rockettes, the Chipmunks, and the Vienna Boys Choir. Plus a Plaid Caribbean Christmas that puts the “Day-O” in Excelsis! As we make our way to Bloomington, IL for our overnight, we’ll still be tapping our toes to the Plaid Tidings!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 – Bloomington to Wisconsin Dells, WI

We depart after breakfast for Delavan, WI where we’ll be guests for a delightful early lunch at the Rosewood Dinner Theatre. Our hearts will easily be reignited with the spirit of the season as we’re surrounded with beautifully decorated trees and festive seasonal décor. A special concert is next: “Christmas Remembered” carries on a cherished Wisconsin Tradition, celebrating well-loved hymns, carols, and holiday songs. Each musical arrangement is performed with professional sound, colorful theatrical lighting and imaginative video – White Christmas, Chestnuts Roasting, O Holy Night, Jingle Bell Rock, Little Drummer Boy, Sleigh Ride and more. Departing, we make our way to the Legacy Dinner Theatre in Wisconsin Dells for another fantastic dinner followed by “Christmas in the Dells. This impressive show features sugar plum fairies, soaring angels, dancing elves, enchanted reindeer, Jolly ol’ Saint Nick, and the celebration of the birth of Christ with the area’s largest living nativity! Enjoy an incredible cast that includes talented singers, dancers, comedians, figure skaters, pyrotechnics, laser lights, giant video screens, and a huge band spotlighting the orchestral sounds of an amazing brass section. It will be quite the Christmas finale – we’ll rest well tonight!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites

Day 5 – Wisconsin Dells to Home

Breakfast is served before we check out and head to Market Cheese Square, where we will find over 100 varieties of cheese from over 20 factories throughout Wisconsin. They also have a wonderful selection of homemade fudge and candies. We’ll enjoy some samples and shopping time. Moving on, lunch will be on our own in Eau Claire. Our last tour stop will be brewery tour at legendary Leinenkugel’s, specializing in a wide range of German-inspired beers. We’ll enjoy an in-depth history tour about how Leinenkugel’s choose Chippewa Falls as the perfect location, the Leinenkugel family tree, and the family members’ impact on the brewery business. We’ll also see inside & out of their 156-year-old Leinenkugel’s brewery, with a focus on the building’s history and an overview of today’s brewing process. Samples will be served in the Leinie Lodge.
