There’s nothing better in October than a jaunt down memory lane on an old-fashioned hayride, down-home in Indiana!
Singing, laughter, picnics, stories, memories and more. This will be a musical memory maker!
A hayride!! Really?!! Old Fashioned Style?
Yes! and Yes!
Sooo..Hop on! It’s sure to bring back fond memories of days gone by. Of course we won’t ride the Haywagon for the whole tour, just a couple special times!
Day 1 – Home to Delavan, WI
We travel today to our comfy little spot in Delavan. This evening we are guests at The Rosewood Dinner Theatre. Rosewood embraces the flavors of autumn in the heartland where they extend the warmth of the days into the cool of the evening, gathering with music around an outdoor fire. We will savor a farm to table culinary experience. Featured show this evening is “Radio Days.” Taking us back to a post war time when families gathered in living rooms across America to hear music and stories from the Golden Age of Radio: The Andrew Sisters, Glenn Miller, Vaughn Monroe, Rosemary Clooney, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, and more.

Day 2 – Delavan to Middlebury, IN
Early breakfast is convenient right at our hotel before we hit the road for Indiana. After breaks and lunch on your own along the way, we’ll visit a fall favorite pumpkin farm for a short hayride, a robotic dairy tour, and some good old-fashioned fun! We’ll arrive in Middlebury late in the afternoon to check into warm, rural charm and meet our evening featured entertainers and long-time R&J friends, Woody & Vonnie Wright. They’ve traveled to Middlebury just for us! We’ll enjoy their feel good, soft-country music following our included dinner. You’ll feel right at home, and Vonnie’s melodious crooning will have you drifting and dreaming for sure!
Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Hotel: Essenhaus Inn
Day 3 – Marion to Shipshewana, IN
With breakfast under our belts, we are off to the legendary hospitality of Shipshewana. Arriving in time for…what else? Lunch! Victorian Style! Lunch is followed by our first great Ship Show: “Salute to the Stars: The Way They Were!” A concert like no other of “ol Blue Eyes,” “Babs,” and “The King of R&R” – AKA Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand and Elvis! These incredible impersonators will bring the Stars music to life! Afterwards we’ll enjoy a tasty ice cream social. Dinner this evening is delicious Amish food served family style. We are guests this evening at the Blue Gate Theatre for the presentation of “Dear Soldier Boy,” a hilarious, feel good musical comedy. It’s 1951 and the Korean War is in full swing. Anna King knows that war is contrary to the Amish way, but she still wants to help our troops by volunteering to write letters of encouragement to the soldiers, who must be lonely so far away from home. Anna doesn’t tell anyone about her mission, least of all her father. But to her surprise and dismay, three of her soldier pen pals show up on leave – on the very same weekend! And if that’s not enough, all three propose marriage! Now what’s she going to do?! Will Anna be able to keep the soldiers from finding out about each other? And her father from finding out about all of them?? And then… which one has she really fallen in love with?

Complete with an Amish Bakery, Creamery, a Basket-Making Shop, and a Buggy- Making Shop. We’re treated to an early dinner at an Amish Farm for a traditional haystack meal. Our entertainment this evening needs no introduction. Daniel O’Donnell tells you everything you need to know! We have seen him many times before and we are ready to see him again. For this popular crooner, the The Blue Gate Event Center is the perfect stage!
