Days 1, 2, 3 – Home to Albuquerque

We become snowbirds as we leave winter behind and begin our journey to the warm Southwest! We overnight in Kansas City & Oklahoma City on the way. We will visit Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial, a “Symbolic Memorial” honoring the victims of this tragedy. On the way to Albuquerque, enjoy lunch at Big Texan Steakhouse. Check into the Drury Inn in ABQ for a two night stay.

Day 4 – Albuquerque

Explore the city of Holy Faith, Santa Fe with its colorful history, culture, and fun. Santa Fe boasts a wealth of Old World charm. Enjoy a walking tour here including the Loretta Chapel, with it’s miraculous staircase. Enjoy lunch here on your own. Later, motor along the scenic Turquoise Trail passing through Madrid, a quaint coal town. Pass through Cerrillos, where turquoise from the area made it’s way into the crown jewels of Spain.

Day 5 – Albuquerque to Flagstaff

After breakfast travel to Flagstaff where we will check into the Drury Inn before attending Black Bart’s for dinner and entertainment.

Day 6 – Flagstaff to Phoenix

Depart for Phoenix. We travel through the spectacular Oak Creek Canyon and the picturesque town of Sedona with its breathtaking red rock formations serving as a backdrop! Continue to “The Valley of the Sun,” Phoenix, Arizona for a relaxing five night stay in our suites in Old Town Scottsdale. Those who signed up for the fly option join us today!

Day 7 – Phoenix

A local step on guide will enhance all the history and sights that the Phoenix area has to offer. Enjoy the beauty and vitality of downtown Phoenix, a modern city on the move! Return to the hotel for some free time. This evening is at your leisure.

Day 8 – Phoenix

Today we take a short scenic drive along the Apache Trail to the Superstition Mountains with a delicious included lunch at the famous Tortilla Flats, complete with the World’s Best Killer Chili, and lively entertainment. Enjoy a relaxing cruise by steamboat on Arizona’s beautiful desert Canyon Lake. Experience the splendor of the canyon, wildlife, and unique desert plants. This evening attend the Barleen Family’s Arizona Opry, music dinner show.

Day 9 – Phoenix

After breakfast, we depart for the Verde Canyon Railroad and ride, first class, the rails along the historical route into Arizona’s other “grand canyon;” it’s an unforgettable experience. Return to the hotel for a leisurely dinner on your own.

Day 10 – Phoenix

Enjoy an included breakfast. Today is a free day! Some options include: the Mesa Flea Market, soaking up the Arizona sun by the beautiful pool, take in a game of tennis or golf, or ride the Scottsdale Trolley to charming shops and attractions of the Scottsdale area. Enjoy an included dinner at Pinnacle Peak, as we step into the Old West at this Patio Steakhouse! Since 1957, Pinnacle Peak has been serving up the finest mesquite!

Day 11 – Phoenix

After a relaxful breakfast, pursue your own interests today. Perhaps you have friends or relatives vacationing in the area and you’d like to connect with them or maybe you’d prefer to just sit, relaxing in the Arizona sun!

Day 12 – Phoenix to Tucson

Journey to the “most sunny city” Tucson, Arizona. We’ll make a stop at the De Grazia Art Gallery, a landmark in Tucson that welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Later, we’ll enjoy a narrated tram tour of Sabino Canyon where waterfalls, flowing mountain streams, clear cool pools, and rock walls hundreds of feet high create a marvelous natural environment. We’ll relax and get settled into the Embassy Suites for a leisurely three night stay in beautiful Tucson.

Day 13 – Tucson

A local step-on guide shows us the sights of Tucson including a visit to the beautiful San Xavier Mission. Later explore the Sonora Desert Museum, ranked as one of the greatest natural museums in the world! It’s exhibits are absolutely first rate. See Giant Saguara Cactii that will amaze you! This evening you are guests at the Tanque Verde Ranch outside of Tucson.

Day 14 – Tucson

After breakfast visit the old western town of Tombstone “The Town Too Tough to Die.” Tombstone was perhaps the most renowned of Arizona’s old mining camps and noted for the infamous Earp-Clanton battle, fought near the rear entrance of the O.K. Corral in 1881. See many of Tombstone’s historic buildings all within a few blocks of downtown Tombstone. Truly a historical American landmark, Tombstone is American’s best example of our 1880 western heritage. We’ll give time to browse this unique town. A delightful lunch is served at the Longhorn Restaurant in Tombstone. The remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy at the lovely hotel.

Day 15 – Tucson to Palm Springs

Today is a travel day as we depart Tucson and head to beautiful Palm Springs, California. Stay five wonderful nights at the Palm Mountain Resort conveniently located in the heart of Palm Springs. This evening you may want to attend the Village Fest Market, located on the main street in Palm Springs.

Day 16 – Palm Springs

Today we will go up to the lovely village of Idyllwild, nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains. Set among pine trees, sweet smelling cedars, and legendary rocks, the town has kept its “small town” atmosphere. This evening dinner is included at Kaiser Grill.

Day 17 – Palm Springs

After a leisurely breakfast, we will depart for the Living Desert Museum where you will see beautiful displays of desert plants and wildlife. Enjoy lunch at Melvyn’s, an elegant restaurant which is a favorite with celebrities. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 18 – Palm Springs

Breakfast is served at Ruby’s Diner, then we are off to the Oasis Date Gardens. Next we will board covered wagons and head into the California desert. Hear about desert plants and wildlife. Enjoy an included barbecue lunch with western entertainment. The evening is at your leisure.

Day 19 – Palm Springs

Happy Valentine’s Day! Today our local guide will take us to Joshua Tree National Park and into the Twenty Nine Palms village area. Visit Joshua Tree National Museum and Visitor’s Center and enjoy an included lunch at The Sizzler. On the return to Palm Springs, experience a tour of the neighborhood’s rich & famous. Spend a leisurely evening enjoying Palm Springs.

Day 20 – Palm Springs to St. George, UT

Fly group departs today.) Our coach will make its way to St. George, Utah for a night’s stay at the Hampton Inn.

Day 21 – St. George to Palisade, CO

Enjoy the passing scenery as we travel to the beautiful Wine Country Inn with an included dinner in Palisade, Colorado.

Day 22 – Palisade to Denver

Depart this morning after breakfast, taking in the gorgeous scenery as we make our way to Denver, Colorado for an overnight.

Day 23 – Denver to Lincoln, NE

Leave the mountains behind at we travel to Nebraska. An included lunch is planned at Ole’s Big Game Steakhouse in Paxton, NB.

Day 24 – Lincoln to Home

Today we travel the last leg of our journey with an included lunch at Pizza Ranch. Return home this evening with wonderful memories of our leisurely tour through Arizona & Palm Springs!
